This is a NFC title winning team with a good QB

phew, glad we have that covered then !

Jay is the weak link right now. But I am resigned to thinking that he just isn't going to ever be a good decision maker or have the mechanics of an above average QB.

jay is the weak link? thats pretty damn absurd, as i consider him head-and-shoulders above everyone else on the offense.

we have a collection of 3rd receivers, hey, they might be really strong 3rd receivers, but theres not a 1 or 2 in the bunch.

the o-line is a huge mess, its put together piecemeal, it sorta fights out there, can't really open holes in the running game and is good for 2-3 holding penalties a game

the running backs are strong, but their strengths are in their blocking, receiving, and open field running, not really in straight ahead '3 yards and a cloud of dust' type game, which is what could really help us here.

jay is the only thing we could hold onto for the first 6 or so games, only now are things really moving around. does he make some bafflingly bad decisions? absolutely, but damn does he make some impressive plays. he made about 3 throws to olsen that almost no other qb in the league could make. he hit hester on a bomb that hester, of course, dropped in the bread basket. he creates with his feet. he is, without a doubt, our best offensive player. i dont think this is up for argument.

then we have the defense, but thats a whole other can of worms. they are certainly the much better unit.

Yeah, calling the Cutler the weak link is absurd. He makes his share of mistakes and dumb decisions, but he's by far the strongest part of the offense.

I'm at a loss for words when someone calls Jay Cutler the weak link in an offense with our WRs, our offensive line, our running backs...

what on earth? cutler and the defense are the reasons we are successful, he is one of the best in the game right now.

i've stated that i'd take no other qb ahead of him in this system, with this offensive line, except for rodgers, maybe, and vick looks good as of right now. but jay is the man.

Was it me, or did Millen and Theismann sound like they were on the verge of getting into a slap fight in the booth? I nearly lost it when Theismann was going off about how teams shouldn't get cute before the half and should instead take a knee because of the Redskins/Cowboys game, followed by Matt Millen reminding him of a better example of that.

theismann also bagged on millen's disposal of a giant hamburger when talking about diabetic diets. millen, in the next segment, went on to point out that his brother died from complications of diabetes.

Wow, Manning did something useful

You mean like he has all year.

Exactly. He's easily been the best safety on this team.

Now that's a hotly contested title, if only because the barriers to entry are so low.

I'd argue he's been the best DB. I guess DJ Moore could have an argument, but he's only in 1/2 the snaps.

Meant to respond earlier but I definitely agree with you.

It's beginning to make more sense why Alex Brown and Mark Anderson were cut. Idonije and Melton are more than pulling their weight opposite Peppers. Not saying Brown wouldn't have been able to hold his own, but I think it's pretty clear that we did not downgrade going from Brown/Anderson to Idonije/Melton.

and the same people who are criticizing cutler are the same people who think he should manage games. i'd say he managed this one very well. hit passes on third down, dominated the time of possession and allowed the running game to play well.

Also, what a horrible offensive gameplan by the Dolphins. No sign of the Wildcat anywhere. I know we have a good run defense, but to put that much pressure on a third-string QB is puzzling to say the least.

There seems to be some misconception that our pass defense sucks or something. I'm not sure how aware people are that we currently lead the NFL in QB Rating allowed. I believe it's down in the low 60s.

Um, I think the true answer is somewhere in between you two. Rodgers, Manning, Brees, Vick, Brady, and Rivers just off the top of my head.

Theismann is one of the biggest dicks in the history of sports. My dad (who likes just about everybody he meets) met Theismann about 20 years ago at a business function and said the guy was a total [expletive].

It's still ridiculous to suggest we don't have a QB.

3-9

0-13

3-15

0-12

2-10

I hope this trend continues from this win streak.

should also be said that robbie gould is back, perfect kicks tonight, absolutely split the uprights every time.

He was gone?

Yes, he missed a field goal in the three previous games that he attempted one, and some were not tough.
