i dunno guys, maybe i should feel nervous about this, but i really like our defense against tyler thigpen, if we don't get a couple picks, i'd be pretty shocked

and its strength vs. strength here, they like to run the ball, we are good at stopping the run. as long as our o-line doesn't lose their minds again, i think we should control this game and win it, maybe not easily, but definitely take it in control.

of course the bears are great at letting me down once i have confidence in them

I agree with that. But I worry that if they want to go to Brandon Marshall on every play, there's not much the Bears can do to stop him. Of course, that's where it helps that Tyler Thigpen will be playing and not Chad Henne.

They're going to rely on Thigpen to pass them to victory? I'll take that if they want to try it.

I think they'll try to blow up our run D with creative running/wildcat packages. We'll see.

I worry about the Marshall thing too. Especially because Jennings seems to be the guy they are putting on the #1 WRs these days. Jennings is 5'8'' and Marshall I believe is 6'4''. That's 8 inches he has on Jennings. Any jump ball to Marshall is going to embarass us.

Yeah, that matchup scares the crap of me. I think Bowman (who is 6'1") is healthy enough to play now, so they'd be better off putting him on Marshall for this game. Or Tillman.

The whole "Henne not ruled out" deal reeks of the Dolphins not wanting us to know which QB to build our defensive gameplan around. They must think we're really stupid.

You shouldn't build your defensive gameplan around either Dolphins QB.

That's not what I meant. I meant that without Henne they'll probably rely more on the Wildcat than before, and I could see the Dolphins not wanting us to get that in our heads.

The Colts put Jennings on Marshall most of the day last year. Marshall had 21 catches for 200 yards and 2 TD's.

Who wouldn't when you've got Neckbeard throwing you the ball?

Yeah but Jennings also intercepted a ball intended for Marshall, so...yeah...totally evens it out.

Jennings has surprised me this year. He was literally the worst CB in the NFL last year. That's my opinion, but it's my completely honest and uneducated opinion.

Bears strong-side linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa, who missed 14 games last season with knee injuries, has been ruled out of Thursday's game at Miami with a knee issue.

Tinoisamoa, who has been healthy this season and consistently lauded for his performance by coach Lovie Smith, was limited in practice on Tuesday. The Bears announced today that he will not play against the Dolphins, meaning veteran Nick Roach could be in line for his first start of the season.

Tinoisamoa, who is ranked sixth on the team with 41 tackles, missed the majority of the offseason program while he recovered from knee surgery. But he quickly asserted himself in training camp, as he did last summer, and claimed the starting job.

The extent of his injury is not known at this point. The Bears couldn't keep their linebackers healthy last season. The team has been fortunate with injuries thus far this season. Veteran linebacker Hunter Hillenmeyer is the only player on injured reserve with any experience. Running back Harvey Unga and defensive lineman Averell Spicer are also on IR.

Well this is a winnable game much like the Seattle/Washington games were, but on the road. They are 3-1 on the road so far this year and 1-1 in primetime. You can't really say this game is make or break, but it is fairly crucial in the race to determine who will make the playoffs. I really don't see the Bears finishing with 10 wins if they can't beat Miami. I'm also watching this one with 2 Dolphins fans, so a loss is really going to be disappointing.

Keys to the game.

1. Special teams. A lot of focus is on Hester breaking the return TD record in from of 40 of his friends and family back home. But even if he never touches the ball, the Bears have a HUGE special teams edge. If Hester doesn't touch the ball, it will be because Miami is punting or kicking off out of bounds and giving the Bears the field position advantage. On the Bears side, they need to keep Miami on a long field as I don't think they are a team that can put together long drives against the Bears D.

2. QBs outside the pocket. Cutler has shined the last 2 weeks when outside the pocket. Whether running or throwing on the run. Thigpen is probably even more dangerous outside of the pocket. The Bears DBs have to stay disciplined on their receivers. I don't know how much Urlacher will be able to spy because Miami has decent pass catching TEs he will need to help out on.

3. Turnovers. Gotta win the TO battle on the road. Thigpen is prone to turnovers. So, is Cutler. But the Bears D is one of the best at forcing them, and Miami has played strong D most of the year, but they aren't giving their offense short fields by taking the ball away. The Bears can't help them out the way they did the Redskins and Lions.

I'm hoping for 2 out of the next 3. So, I'd take a loss tonight if it means they beat the Eagles next week (and win @ Detroit). The Eagles game is a bigger game because its vs. an NFC contender anyway.

I just feel like they are only going to beat the Eagles if their recent improvement is real and they don't keep suffering setbacks. And a loss to a depleted Dolphins team would be a setback. Obviously I would much prefer a win over Philly to a win over Miami if I can only get one. But if they are going to get to 10 wins, I don't see it happening if they lose to the Dolphins.

My girlfriend just reminded me that tonight was the night she bought stupid Lion King musical tickets for us to go to. I told her to pick a night during the week so I didn't waste time on the weekends going to it. And of course she picks the night of the only Bears weekday game between September and December.

So I'm gonna miss the entire game. The show starts at 7:30 (same as the Bears game) and ends sometime between 10:15-10:30 supposedly (roughly when the Bears game will end). I was considering DVRing it but I won't be home until 11, and I can't kill a Bears game in an hour. The worst thing is, my gf has the biggest pet peeve of me checking my phone during stuff like this. I am going to have a miserable night if I am checking my phone during the show.

I guess I should set popup notifications on my phone for scoring plays. That way it pops up as a text message, so I can really quickly sneak my phone out and check the message instead of having to refresh a web page to see the score.

Record it and watch it after? If you fast forward through timeouts, halftime, and between plays, you should be able to watch it pretty quickly I'd guess.

If she bought tickets after the schedule came out, which was back in like April, this is your fault.

Just DVR the thing and play on fast forward. Anytime you notice a big play watch in regular. You can get through it in a hurry. Turn off your phone during the show.

Or better yet, don't go. It's really lame and meant for 13 year olds that have never seen live entertainment on stage.

Seriously. Two years ago in New York, my wife and buddy's girl decided this was the Broadway show they wanted to see. Ugh.

10 years ago my girlfriend decided that was the show to take her little cousins to.
