and if that mayo proposal is real, im glad they turned it down. as much as i wanted a 2 guard, that's too much for mayo

Yeah, it's sounding more and more like they wanted to dump Mayo but were trying to not get fleeced, and when the Bulls didn't blink Memphis freaked out and tried to work out the deal with the Pacers at the last minute.

for people who watched it, you can you give me some details?

There was one particular play with about 2 mins left and the bulls with a slight lead I believe. Rose was dribbling on the right side of the arc just in front of the 3 point line with MVP chants raining down on him and Wade guarding him. He crossed Wade over then pulled up and hit the jumper. Rose looked about as pumped up as I was after he hit it. Did a little jawing too. It was nice to see

What's that look on Wade's face?

Like he doesn't think Rose is a big enough deal to be making a big shot and be excited about it.

More like disgusted that he just got owned.

So the Bulls offered Memphis Brewer, 2 1st round picks and a 2nd round pick for Mayo.

Wow. Surprised they turned that down.

I'm assuming they were figuring they could force the Bulls' hand into giving them an even better deal. What I heard on the radio made it sound like Memphis wanted a combo of Korver and Bogans/Brewer and the first round picks.

Who is the Memphis GM and what color is the sky in his world?

It's been a while, but I don't recall this scene from Jurassic Park.

I remember watching that awful "Homecoming" show before the Free Agency event in the summer. Rick Reilly was talking to Wade about all of the great point guards in the league and he named Rose. Wade interrupted him and said, "Derrick Rose? Really? Already?" After that he laughed and just shrugged his head.

Rose should've just laughed in his face after he made that shot yesterday.

i may be in the minority, but i think lebron is only the 3rd biggest douchebag on that team.... and i think it's a distant third.

lebron is cocky, arrogant, etc, but i dont even dislike him anymore. i think maybe the fact that he's such a ridiculously good player allows me to get over the insane ego he has. kind of like MJ. michael is a huge POS, but he's kind of "allowed" to be because of how transcendent he was/is.

wade and bosh, on the other hand, just seem like complete bitches to me. and it's not just because they turned down the bulls either.

Is the gif broken? All I see is Boozer turning around and Bosh getting tapped slightly. Then is quickly flashes another scene I can't see and then back to Boozer turning again.

Thank God...I thought I was missing something, but that's exactly what I see.

Am I wrong for thinking that plan 'B' of Boozer turned out a lot better than perhaps getting Bosh (who was plan A1, A2 or A3)? Bosh doesn't bring that post game at all, so its an added dimension that has helped tremendously.

Now Boozer may age faster and his defense remains a problem, but still.

Whether or not its deserved (and it probably still isn't, IMO, but I'm slowly moving in that direction) Derrick Rose for MVP definitely picked up a lot of steam tonight. Not only did he go and beat the other contender, LeBron bricked that last shot, and the knuckleheads will latch on to that.

I almost sympathize for LeBron in this instance, he goes and gives his wide open shooter a game winning opportunity? Lambasted. He goes and forces up a shot because thats whats expected of him? He's gonna be torn to shreds. I'm sure he's fine with hisself and his millions of dollars though of course

LeBron might indeed be the best player in the league. But in terms of taking the last shot with the game on the line, he's not in MJ or Kobe's league. Not even close. I'd rather DWade have the ball in that situation.

Kobe is very bad at taking the last shot. read http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/24200/the-truth-about-kobe-bryant-in-crunch-time.

love that article.

why do people consistently put Kobe and MJ in the same league?

Rings.

Robert Horry has 7 rings. obviously, Kobe is a great player, and certainly one of the best 15 or 20 of all time. he is not MJ, though. i have friends that actually think Kobe is better. i will never understand.

Because Kobe is a very similar player stylistically (especially old MJ compared to old Kobe) and he obviously plays the same position... and he's had a similar level of team success.

And because Kobe has an insane work ethic (which is what has allowed him to evolve his game to the point that it has).

Because Kobe's playing now, and I doubt your friends are really old enough to appreciate how good MJ was.

Nobody should ever be compared to Michael. Execept maybe Jesus.
