quick quiz: which pitcher has the worst single-season ERA in major league history? (minimum 60 innings pitched)

i will give you a hint, he threw a no-hitter in the first postseason start of his career.

it's cool that this is happening, but i hate the [expletive] phillies so bad.

yeah but you hate everything.

I actually like this Phillies team.

it's mostly jealousy at the seemingly endless supply of good things that happen to them while only terrible terrible things happen to the cubs.

it was cool to witness, though.

maybe we need to go out and get a [expletive] ace?

have you only followed baseball since 2008? the phillies are 1100 games below .500 in their existence and have won the world series only twice in 125 years. you could pick almost any other team in baseball and it would have a greater history of success than the phillies.

i hate them because i tried to get a friend of mine into baseball for the longest time, because he's actually intelligent and not a meatball/head, and he refused. then he moves to philly, tells me he's gonna start following baseball and 2 seasons later the phillies win the world series. UNFAIR GOD.

Is there any interference there with where Phillips left his bat? That was a weird final play. Great moment though.

i was wondering the same thing... that was a nice play by ruiz (when did he get so good, by the way?)

i can think of one.

but seriously, they've won 2 world titles in my lifetime, soon to be 3 and they've made an additional series. that will be 4 world series appearances in my lifetime which is more series appearances for the cubs in my grandfather's lifetime.

lately, they just don't lose and they don't look like they're going to slow down any time soon. they have 3 aces and guys that mash the hell out of the ball while maintaining a lower payroll than the cubs. so [expletive] them, i hate their [expletive] guts.

i can think of a few, but here are teams with a better record of success than the phillies:

mets

braves

marlins

reds

technically the cubs should be on this list, but since they haven't won in forever i'll leave them off

cardinals

pirates

dodgers

giants

diamondbacks

yankees

red sox

blue jays

orioles

twins

tigers

white sox

a's

I really like the Phillies and I love seeing Halladay start his far too long delayed postseason career like this....but I just HATE Philly fans.
