If Cutler got a concussion last year, would they have gone with Hanie the week after or got a a vet like Collins? I just don't know what Hanie did to lose the second string position.

If Jay gets another concussion (which is possible with this line), is he out for the season? You have to think about that possibility which could ruin the season.

Well he got injured in the preseason. Collins was brought in and played well in his only preseason game. So combine that with the fact that Collins has more experience and you probably have the answer.

I think it would depend on the severity. I'm no doctor but if he was severely concussed last Sunday, he's not on the practice field 3 days later. From the looks of it, him being held out this week is precautionary due to the nature of the injury and not because he's still having symptoms. Not sure how many "mild" concussions one could sustain in a season or how that works, but every QB is one significant injury away from their season being over.

I have an opportunity to go to this game but a hopeless Carolina team versus a Cutler-less Chicago team just doesn't seem like an equal trade for a 4 hour ride. Or one hour for that matter...

I actually applaud Fox for taking the lumps with Clausen. Moore is not a long-term solution, but I could have seen him riding him out the rest of the year. Especially since the writing on the wall says he's gone after this year.

Fox went to Clausen because Moore wasn't going to win now, and Fox wanted to build his coaching stock up. This is a contract year for him, which basically never happens with coaches. Last year, Fox was perfectly content to let Jake Delhomme destroy an otherwise-awesome Panthers team because he had another year. He made the Clausen move specifically because he needs wins to get lots of money from someone this off-season.

I'm fully expecting a poor offensive showing without Cutler.
Me too, but I see an equally poor showing by Carolina with Smith out and a rookie QB with virtually no receiving corps. Could be a 6-3 type of game.

The Bears have held internal discussions about a familiar player, defensive tackle Alfonso Boone. The 34-year-old was released Wednesday by the Chargers

Yep.
