Notre Dame and Navy to play in Ireland in 2012

Navy athletic director Chet Gladchuk says Aviva Stadium will be the site for the 86th meeting between the Fighting Irish and Midshipmen.

The $410 million stadium opened in May and has a seating capacity of 50,000.

"Obviously as an Irish-Catholic from Boston, Mass., I'm going to have a lot of requests for tickets — not airline tickets," Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly said after Tuesday's practice in South Bend, Ind. "No, I just think it's a great venue and I'm excited about it. That's one of the unique things about being an independent, that you can have a game like that on the schedule. It certainly doesn't hurt in recruiting, either."

Home field advantage for Notre Dame?

Didn't see it posted but Jewel Hampton tore his other ACL on Saturday and is out for the year again. Iowa is now down to Robinson and then just a pair of freshman who were planning to redshirt. Sounds like Marcus Coker will be the guy.

Trib[/url]"]Nebraska's departure from the Big 12 will cost the university more than $9 million and Colorado is leaving more than $6 million from the conference behind to join the Pac-10 next year.

Glad that Colorado isn't going to screw around by trying to stay til 2012. Whatever the result of the new Big 12, I didn't want some half baked year with ridiculous scheduling to account for Colorado messing around before leaving. Bring on the 9 and 18 game conference schedules.

Last week's 30-13 win over Rice gave Northwestern back to back wins by double digits for the first time in ten years.

Ten years.

Might as well just change their name to Cardiac 'Cats full-time.

personally i wanted one more year without the death schedule. KU needs it.

They certainly get hit the hardest by it. Swapping out Nebraska and Colorado for Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas Tech is brutal.

Heard on the radio that there are rumors New Mexico may fire Mike Locksely and hire Mike Leach.

Son of a bitch.

Fire Zook right now. Leach is my guy for Illinois.

There's not a chance in hell Guenther would hire Leach

Speaking of, when is that clown going to finally retire? He's hinted at it for a few years but obviously hasn't done it yet.

Extra point pending but SMU is up 16-14 on TCU early in the second half.

I just got home and saw the QB stats and thought SMU might be winning. TCU really must have dominated the 3rd quarter.

Once again, the scheduling sucks today. The only 3 games I really want to see (ND vs. STAN, PSU vs. TEM, ALA vs. ARK) are all on at 3:30.
