I heard a bunch of racist Eagles fans who always hated McNabb even though he won getting all pissy about Vick possibly taking the job from Kolb. I think Reid's going to be able to go back to Kolb without much negative reaction from the public.

Is it public reaction that would keep him from making that move though, or locker room reaction? I'm guessing that locker room loves Vick right now.

Being an Illinois fan frees me from high expectations in football. It actually makes things much easier.

Hahah, yeah. I find being an Illinois fan in general does that :)

meh, i have some high expectations this year in basketball.

Yeah, I'm expecting a lot over the next several years.

I hate football. Last year, Iowa and the Vikings were both undefeated until October 25th. Entering December 6th they had combined for 3 total losses. They've now lost 3 out of their first 5 combined games.

Couldn't happen to two better teams.

Well, I'll concede I'd rather see Green Bay suck. But with Favre on the Vikings it's almost as good. However, given that I was at Illinois when the Pearl thing happened, I loathe Iowa with a passion.

Yeah but you're an Illinois fan. You really shouldn't even speak about college football in public.

You are reliving my 2006-2007.

In 2006, Michigan and the Bears started the season a combined 18-0 (7-0 for the Bears, 11-0 for Michigan). Michigan ended up losing their last 2 games but went to the Rose Bowl, the Bears went 6-3 the rest of the way and of course went to the Super Bowl.

Then starting next season, the Bears started out the season 2-4 and Michigan started their season out 0-2 with losses to FBS Appalacian State and a 38-0 home loss to Oregon.

01-02 for me.

Alex Smith's 6th year already. Where'd the time go?

49ers need to get their noggins in this game or it'll be over soon.

Thank God for replay, what is that ref shooting up with? He never touched that ball not even close.

This is the worst national booth in the league. I'd even rather listen to Ron Pitts and John Lynch than listen to the 3 hour slurpfest that these guys put on.

Gruden was a good football coach (he pretty much had two teams play each other in the Super Bowl so you figure he had to be good) but dammit you wouldn't know that listening to him talk about the game.

Nice to see the Niners remember Frank Gore is 1 of the best backs in the league. No reason Alex Smith should ever throw 40+ passes like last week.

Mike Iupati already looks really good for the 49ers. He's going to be a beast at guard.

This season has been wacky so far...

-Vikings and Cowboys start out 0-2

-Bears, Buccaneers, Chiefs and Dolphins start out 2-0

-Seahawks dominate the 49ers and then get destroyed by the Broncos next week.

-Broncos lose to the Jaguars in week 1, then destroy the Seahawks. Meanwhile the Jaguars get dominated by San Diego the next week

-49ers get killed by Seattle and look like pretenders, then play the Saints tough, leading halfway into the 3rd quarter.

-Jets have an anemic offensive performance against Baltimore, then score 28 points on the Patriots and win by 2 touchdowns. The Patriots blow out the Bengals, scoring 38 points and looking really really good, and then lose to those Jets

If you would have told be when I was 12 that there would be a point in my life where I would be cheering for the 49ers over the Saints I would have told you you were crazy.

I was desperately hoping that either he or Pouncey would fall to the Vikings in the draft. He's just a nasty guy.

Yeah, I just loved him in last year's draft. I'm glad the Vikings didn't get him. :)

Man, the 9ers are shooting themselves in the foot with these unforced turnovers.

And Pierre Thomas just showed his right buttock on national TV. Kinda like Devin Hester last season.
