that +/- is not a great stat for judging a players performance. I would say that watching the Hawks this year I would say that Keith, Seabrook and Hjalmarsson are not playing as well as they did last year.

At the very least, Frolik's an upgrade over Skille.

is tallon still working for the blackhawks? i really am trying to see the motivation behind the trade from their side, and i can't. here, take a reasonably productive nhl forward and a goalie prospect for a fourth line center, a middling forward prospect and the biggest bust from possibly the best first round draft in nhl history.

no i know. i wasn't judging them by the plus/minus. i was just pointing it out because it backs up how they've looked most of the year.

I had high hopes for Skille a couple of years ago. At least he helped the Hawks out by getting traded. Great trade. Hopefully this will give us even a little scoring burst. Is he a 2 way player, aka is he any good defensively?

Without knowing anything else about it, statistically he looks a little like Versteeg albeit with declining numbers this year.

probably just a slump, then loses ice time. he's the type of player who has negative value if he's not producing offensively, because he's not physical and is a liability defensively. that's not to say he's bad. but it's easier for a player like skille to have value when not finding the score sheet.

 

that said, frolik still has a better ceiling and track record, and florida gave up on him too quickly (and for too small a return).

It should be 4-0. Lehtonen's power play 'save' on Seabrook was not a save. Sure as hell looked like his glove was all the way in the net with the puck in it.

Wow...hawks take a penalty when they fling the puck into the crowd. Then a few minutes later, on a shift change, a hawks player passes the puck down ice and it hits the skate of a player coming off the ice.
