I don't know much about Olympic soccer, but none of the really big names play? I heard Beckham has never played in the Olympics?

The men play their under 23 team in the Olympics, I think a few spots are open to older players who are on their way out of international soccer. There's speculation that this will be the direction the US goes in basketball after this Olympic team.
