Well in order for both pitchers to throw a no hitter, either the White Sox have to win or it has a be an extra inning no-no. I don't think we need extra innings, so hopefully the White Sox can get a run across without a hit so we can see some history.

Either team can score with walks, hbp, errors, etc. and have two no hitters in a normal 9 inning game.

If the Cubs score in the 9th or earlier, Floyd can't get 27 outs. And if he doesn't get 27 outs, he doesn't get an official no hitter.

I'm pretty sure that if a pitcher doesn't pitch 9 innings it's not a technically a no hitter, so if the Cubs don't bat in the bottom of the ninth because the games over Floyd wouldn't get credit for a no hitter. I think Weaver lost a no hitter because of this a couple of years ago.

What do you mean? I'm saying if the Cubs scratched across a run at some point without getting a hit, the bottom of the 9th wouldn't be necessary so the White Sox wouldn't get a true no hitter. I want to see both teams get no-no's so for that to happen the White Sox have to be the team that gets the run across unless it were to go extra innings.

You guys sure about that? A pitcher gets credit for a complete game in a rain shortened contest, after all.

If so, then baseball is terribly inconsistent with it's stats. Not that that's a big surprise.

They changed the rules for what constitutes a no-hitter. A rain-shortened no-no is not an official no-no.

Are you sure about that? Wikipedia says the game must be at least 9 innings, which it will be.
