6/13 White Sox (Floyd) @ Cubs (Lilly) 7:00 ESPN/XM175

Gavin Floyd, RHP (2-6, 6.18)

White Sox (28-33)

@

Ted Lilly, LHP (1-5, 3.28)

Cubs (27-35)

White Sox: Floyd pitched well enough to win his last start, as he held Detroit to one run in six innings. He left the bases loaded in the second inning, and followed that up by leaving two on in the third. The only run was scored when Brandon Inge's single in the sixth knocked in Ryan Raburn, who led off the frame with a double. Unfortunately for Floyd, he didn't get the win, as the bullpen imploded in the seventh inning and the Tigers pushed across six runs. Floyd has one career start against the Cubs, and in that start he went seven innings, giving up one run over four hits.

Cubs: Lilly did not get a decision in his last start against the Brewers. It was his sixth straight quality start -- and he has not earned a win in any of them. According to Elias Sports Bureau, Lilly is the second pitcher in Cubs history to go winless over six consecutive quality starts. The other was Sheriff Blake in 1926. Lilly struck out six Brewers, a season high, and gave up one run on Corey Hart's home run. Maybe this time, he'll get some run support.

Maybe the Cubs will...ah, who am I kidding, here's to sucking!

can you say time for a fire sale?

I guess we could win this 1 with Lilly on the mound. He has been our stopper in te past, but weve never had an offense this bad while hes been around. Right now Byrd and Colvin are our only mildy competant hitters, but Lou probably wont play Colvin to spite Steve Stone or he'll play him but sit Byrd because Lous stupid.

I guess we could win this 1 with Lilly on the mound. He has been our stopper in te past, but weve never had an offense this bad while hes been around.

Lilly didn't pitch last year?

Ted Lilly has pitched his heart out.... giving us 7 QS out of 9 games started, and 5 QS in a row !! How can you not like his 2.54 BB/9 innings or his 1.09 WHIP ???

The fact is, this team scores 2.56 runs per game when he pitches.... hence, he's 1-5 !! Ted Lilly should sue the team for non-support !!

Is it wrong of me that I am really hoping the Cubs get their ass kicked in a really ugly fashion tonight on National Tv? Because that is basically where I'm at at this point in the season. If their going to lose, lose in a comical way and do it on national TV. Hoping the boo birds are loud and clear tonight so Ricketts is embarrassed and decides its time to clean house. Keep dreaming I know, but hey that's all I have to root for at this point.

Here, here. I want a 2011 Top 5-10 draft pick, and for that to Cubs need to continue what they are doing.

Has anybody checked to see if Mike Fontenot is alive?

Well he's gonna have to play a lot when Castro passes out from playing 70 consecutive games.

Haha no [expletive]. What has he had since being called up 1 game off? I'm all in favor of letting the kid play thru his struggles, but with tomorrow being an off day and a righty on the mound, today could have given him a few days of rest to re group. Lou gave Fontenot like 3 starts in a row and he had 1 hit so now he never gets to start again.

I don't think Castro's had a day off. I show this is his 34th consecutive start.

Hoy crap. Outside of 4 offdays/rain outs, Castro has been in the lineup everyday. His numbers definately tell me he is tired. When you're numbers rival that of Ryan Theriot you need a day or three off. Starlin needs a day off.

OK, then... I'm going to give him tomorrow off then !!
