I can't recall ever seeing the U.S. score a goal in the World Cup through a series of awesome passes and movement like Germany's 2nd goal.

I wonder why..

hahaha!

Can't wait to hear FIFA's "nothing to see here, everything is OK with how we officiate" explanation.

I fear for London right now.

I mean, wow. I can't imagine my blood pressure if I were an English fan right now.

Hey FIFA, it sure is a good thing we don't have those two officials standing on the goal like like the Europa League did this year, isn't it? It's not like that would have mattered or anything.

just don't understand why goals aren't either A) replayed or B) have more officials like you say. Considering that goals are such a commodity in this sport, you'd think they'd put more importance on determining what are and what aren't goals. This isn't like basketball where points are a dime a dozen.

We had a bunch of movements like that over the last two games. We couldn't finish any of them.

Lampard has the absolute worst luck of any English player.

It's one thing to have an official not make a subjective foul call. It's another to have to have the ball actually go in the net but be disallowed, like US v Slovenia. But to see it cross the line in the run of play, cleanly, and not be counted? Ouch.

I'm starting to almost feel relieved USA is out. Almost.

I was going to say, where are goal judges? If you don't want replay because they don't have it at lower levels, that's dumb but whatever. But why not at least have goal judges like hockey? That wasn't even close.

FIFA seems really lame.

Really? You would know better than I, but I can't seem recall any possessions that started on our own side and included 7 quick passes (each one getting us closer to their goal) that completely shredded the defense and led to a wide open shot.

I have no idea. They used two extra officials in the Europa League and by all accounts, it worked great. All those officials do is stand on the goal line and they sure as hell wouldn't have missed it. Plus it keeps the human element that FIFA wants.

If we finished half of our great chances the last two games we score at least 6. I think thats what I have been most frustrated with the past two games.

If England lose today the tabloids are going to be glorious. I can't wait until Blatter is gone from Fifa.

We had a ton, both against Algeria and Ghana.

That was what made it so frustrating. Every time we built from the back we shredded Ghana. From the start of the 2nd half to about the 75th minute we tore them apart with quick passes, but had zero luck/quality in the finishing department.

That oughta do it.

And again, the finishing strike really underlines the gap between USA and the top-tier international teams.

Or if not, one more should!

I'd love for Argentina to do something like this to Mexico (complete with a wrongly disallowed goal also). It wouldn't surprise me as Mexico isn't a team to bunker so it should be an open game.
