The one bad team we've actually been able to beat this year. This matchup favors the Brewers, however, as they own lefties and Gallardo is good. But I still think we take 2 of 3.

Sandwiching Castro between Hill and the pitcher is basically one of the dumbest ways you can approach trying to further the development of a player like him. Brilliant, brilliant lineup work there, Lou.

And I hate to say it, but maybe a benching of Aramis with some drama involved wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if it "inspired" him to still opt out at the end of the year even if he continues to mostly look like [expletive]. A total long shot of a hope, I know, but I'm taking what I can get.

For this team, he's as close to ideal as anyone besides fukudome imo. 403 road obp. And it's not like we steal bases or go first to third anyway. He's also sporting a 1.3 OPS (.444obp) against Gallardo this year.

Just DL Ramirez! Let his thumb heal fully and give him 5-6 weeks to rest and work on his swing, then bring him back after the ASB. Getting him a start once every 3 or 4 games is not going to break a massive slump.

MILWAUKEE -- Aramis Ramirez is back on the bench again for Tuesday night's game against Milwaukee, and appears to be headed for the 15-day disabled list.

It's his second straight day off, though Ramirez struck out pinch-hitting Monday.

"We're going to explore some options with him and that's all I've got to say about that," manager Lou Piniella said.

I love that one of the reasons Lou gave to justify Theriot hitting lead off was that so he'd see "better pitches," like Theriot is some critical part of this team, yet in the same breath Lou has zero problem dumping Soto or Castro in the #8 spot or saddling Lee with a cleanup hitter who is having a historically bad year.
