Meh, this is one of those games where Marmol gets burned for allowing those runners. Normally he doesn't. Shouldn't hurt his all star candidacy too much. That's all I'm really worried about.

Why? It's never a bad thing for guys to get extra time off, especially when they're one of the few useful players on the Cubs right now.

That and Ron Santo's health. How did he take that one?

hopefully he stopped caring like 95% of this board.

It sounded like he slammed his headset.

You want Marmol rested for what exactly? 2011?

Cubs define new ways to lose a game...Let's see:

1) We finally scratch across a run, but can't come through with a clutch hit from our top RBI producer that would have opened up the game.

2) Subsequently, the lead is shortlived when Lilly gives it right back on the NEXT pitch!

3) Then our stud closer gives up two runs on one hit, including the game winner who was intentionally walked.

Maybe the BP Cup is appropriate for these two horsebleep teams we have in this town!

So whats worse: Koyie Hill starting or Koyie Hill batting ahead of Starlin Castro? I know Castro hasnt been knocking to cover off the ball, but how many good pitches is the kid going to see batting in front of the pitcher, and aside from Z, none of our pitchers are very good hitters even for pitchers.

can the blackhawks play forever

seriously. Petition the NHL for a 21 game series plz. First to 11 wins.

works for me. patrick kane has more win in his right skate than this entire team.

Sure, why not? He's young enough that there's no reason to want to over use him in the meantime.

Id say 2012. 2011 is likely to be a very ugly rebuilding year.

That's not the point.

They find ways to lose....different ways every night usually so at least they make it interesting

Start trading and firing a month ago

Seems to be the same way as far as Im concerned. Bad offense due to bad lineups due to the fact that we have a bad manager making said lineups. Cant complain toomuch about the starting pitching aside from a few recent Wells and Z starts, and even the pens been doing OK for itself, although Grabow made a rehab appearence yesterday, so he'll probably be back to screw things up even more than they are.

part of the problem, which magnifies the bullpen issues, is that the offense is frequently inept and the bullpen keeps pitching in close low-scoring games. they've scored 2 runs or fewer in 23 of 58 games, or nearly 40%. that's atrocious.

There are so many things to question, that it isn't even worth worrying about anymore.

So the Ricketts clan went to Milwaukee to watch this collection of stiffs. Did they notice all the empty seats, because that is what Wrigley will look like soon. Highest average ticket prices in baseball for this. Supply and demand will switch places because people are not going to be paying premium prices to watch this crap.

i was driving today in my parents' car and popped in their steve goodman CD. "a dying cub fan's last request" still makes me laugh because it was written 30 years ago and pretty much everything still applies... the cubs still suck.
