Theriot is always [expletive] swinging at the first pitch after a walk in front of him!!

I'm pretty sure he's been better about that recently. I know I kept expecting him to do that in May and I don't remember him actually doing it

He's always been an impatient hitter, usually taking the least pitches per AB of any regular starter on the team. It always infuriated me when I'd hear idiots calling into the radio shows demanding that Theriot lead off over Soriano because he's "more patient."

Yeah, but after years of him seeming to swing at the first pitch after walks I kept looking for it this season and not seeing it. I thought he was intentionally working on not being an idiot in those situations. Maybe not.

the Cubs just set a record for shortest-lived lead in MLB history.

Or at least came in second. The Cubs got the lead, then two pitches later, it was tied.

There are a lot of teams out there who probably wouldnt mind Ryan Theriot in their lineup. However, theyd probably bat him 8th. You could do worse at the 8 spot than Ryan Theriot. I guess an AL team would have the luxury of batting him 9th. Hes better than Adam Everett I guess. Offensively anyway. Nick Punto too. OK, maybe hes not quite as good as Nick Punto. But hes better than Brent Lillibridge.

Anndddd CSN+ is dead.

Yeah, I thought it was just me for a second...

And Theriot is useless.

The video for the Sox game went out on the main channel too which is why I thought it was my satellite. Sox are back on CSN.

Marmol hits Weeks but Gomez pops out on a bunt attempt.

I don't think there are many teams that would put Theriot in there. How has his D been at 2B? I would think most teams in baseball have a 2B in their system that can hit as well as Theriot has this year with better D. Even if they don't, no one wants to pay $3 million for someone putting up Theriot's numbers. He's not a cheap young player anymore. But I haven't seen how Theriot has done since moving to 2B....I remember reading at some point that his numbers were really good defensively back in 06 when he was playing 2B primarily.
