Fred, whens the last time a Cub had 2 triples in one game?

Brock and Hubbs, back to back, first inning against the Cardinals in the summer of '63.

That hurts. Long time to go without 2 triples in a single game.

I misinterpreted the question........

CUBS are 14-15 when the opponent commits at least 1 error.... 9-11 when they don't

CUBS opponents have committed 21 errors in their last 16 games

Chance to break the game wide open against a struggling pitcher and after a big error and D Lee swings at a first pitch that I wouldn't call a good pitch to swing at and the potential big inning is thwarted. Lee was very patient his first two times yet is over anxious when the pitcher is trouble. I have trouble understanding the thought process of major league baseball players.

I have no problem swinging a first pitch fastball in the middle of the plate, but a pitch up and away doesn't seem like the ideal pitch to me.

Silva should have at least an inning or two left in the tank, at which point Marmol will shut it down. I won't call this a pretty win if it stays this way, but any win against the Cardinals is a good one. Of course, if we throw this away I'm likely to break several things and admit myself to a hospital.
