Maybe it's because he hasn't faced lefties enough. Nady's career numbers mean nothing, because he's a shadow of his former self.

His career year was 2008, and he didn't play last year. They said from the beginning he wouldn't be 100% until June. And he still had a decided OPS advantage against LHP going into today. I don't see what the problem is.

Cubs are down 1-0 to the Phillies in the bottom of the 8th. Billy Wagner comes in to face Derrek Lee with one man on. DLee hits a homerun and the Cubs go up 2-1.

Top of the 9th: LaTroy Hawkins loads the bases with 1 out. Placido Polanco hits a line drive right back at Hawkins. LaTroy tries to double up Jose Offerman at first base, but his throw hits Offerman in the helmet. The ball ricochets into right field. Two runs score. The Cubs lose 3-2.

Good chance we see a Phillies walk-off today. I rather have just lost 4-1.

Uh, what? You'd rather the Cubs just looked like crap for the rest of the game?

I rather lose convincingly than via a walk-off.

You're going to have to help me here...how is losing 4-1 more "convincing" than losing, say, 5-4 on a walk off?

It doesnt matter if you win by an INCH or a mile...

utley has been better against LHP than RHP the last year and a half but like a bear to honey, lou sees a lefty up there and jumps at the matchup.

Utley's OPS against LH is over 500 points better than against RH this year. Good job, Loucifer.

How is losing by 3 runs as opposed to 1 on a walk-off not a more convincing loss? You basically know the game is over ahead of time. That's my point.

Typical Chicago fan racism. That's not how LaTroy remembers it.

I guess I just don't understand the point.

GRABOW, YOU [expletive]. ROLLINS CAN'T HIT LEFTIES TO SAVE HIS LIFE THIS YEAR.

That ball was so far off the plate that I just laughed out loud.

Grabow officially has become the new bob howry to me.

What are you going to do when we get the old Bob Howry back?

Hope that Lebron Signs with the Bulls to make me feel a lot better.

I was there that day. As I walked to the Red Line, I smiled and thought about how I had just been a part of something special.

Ugh, Grabow sucks.

It's getting to the point where I can say that I literally could not do much worse than Grabow and actually be able to back it up.
