I didn't even think about Soto being an option for some reason, but you guys are totally right. Why wasn't he up in that situation? What's the logic? This isn't a charity case here where we try to get Nady AB's in any situation.

Lou loves burning as many players as possible for one move. This was especially awesome for him because he burned 4 players in 2 at bats. His margarita tonight will be extra special

Nice comeback that inning....Does it drive anyone else nuts when pinch hitters come in and swing at the first pitch, especially with the tying run on third?

I swear that Lou has Alzheimer's and forgets that Geo knows how to hit.

Geo forgot how to hit himself. 4 for his last 28. Still, a better option than Nady especially considering Geo is going to come in the game anyway since you pinch hit for the other catcher.

WAIT, NOW SOTO COMES IN!?

who did you think was going to catch, randy wells?

Ok ok, missed the double switch order. My bad. You don't miss an opportunity do you truffle?

Lou is a moron, but the Cubs will win this in spite of him.

He does have his share of puzzling moves, but I don't think you get the 14th most wins in MLB history by being a complete tool.

He's forgotten how to hit for the time being but he sure as [expletive] still knows how to walk.

Sure you do. Luck out in being the manager for some really good teams and you're pretty well set.

Dude, it's called hitting, not walking.

Damnit, somebody tell Dusty to stop possessing me.

You can't walk across the plate.

You can't really argue with him pitching to Rollins right there.

Actually, you can really easily. It wasn't smart.

Soooo....you walk a guy who has been out for a full month and has a .689 OPS against you, so you can face a guy that you've only pitched to 3 times?

No. You make a better pitch.

1. it was 3-0

2. how a batter has fared vs. a pitcher in the past tells you almost nothing about how a batter will do vs. a pitcher in the future (small sample sizes)

3. old baseball wisdom says that the pitcher has the advantage the fewer times a batter sees him.

what about the 27th most wins in MLB history? would you say someone with that many wins has to be pretty good?

I'm impressed with the power Werth has shown this year and the last two given that he has the build and look of a hobo who enjoys his meth.
