Scott Rolen isn't playing today, so Dusty puts Miguel Cairo at third base and hits him second.

Orlando Cabrera + Miguel Cairo = Cpatt/Neifi 2.0

Kevin Gregg in the process of blowing a game to Seattle.

Comes in for the bottom of the ninth with a 3-1 lead and goes single, single, walk, walk, sacrifice fly so now it's 3-3 with one out and runners on first and second.

And he just gave up a walkoff single to Griffey.

Apparently MLB has allowed David Ortiz to take steroids this month. 10 HR this year, i think 9 in May?

Joe West is a moron, The ejection of ozzie and Buehrle were bad, but the second one was a balk (as far as i know)

Overall, i think baseball needs to do a better job of explaning what a balk is. To my understanding, you cant motion with your body towards home, which is what Buehrle did. What he made it seem like is that the foot cant cross the rubber or something. Either way MLB should try and educate umpires, players and fans on what a balk is, kid of like the way they tried to stress the true strikezone a few years (myabe 10?) ago.

Both are balks. You can't cross your legs and you can't move towards home and then go to first. Pretty much every left handed pickoff move you see in MLB is a balk, and I really don't understand why they let it stay that way.

The first one was borderline but the second one was obvious. Buehrle clearly starts his motion towards the plate and then goes to first.

To clarify, I didn't see the first balk, I was just talking theoretically about what caused them in this instance.

Ive seen all sorts of stuff Ive never seen in a baseball game in this Cardinals/Padres game.

Tagging up from 1st on a botched sac bunt to the 3rd basemen behind home plate and a double play on a grounder to SS who threw home to tag the runner in the run down, and then also got Molina at 3rd trying to make it from 1st.

This game has been pure comedy

Kendry Morales apparently injured himself jumping on home plate after a walk off HR.

It looked very very bad too. Just one of those freak occurrences.

I don't usually watch regular season baseball games with teams that don't involve the Cubs, but Monday ESPN has a great pitching matchup: Ubaldo Jimenez vs. Tim Lincecum.

Broken leg apparently.

Man, I'm pissed I missed the last inning of that perfect game. There have been so many lately it'll probably be 20 years before the next one (yes I know that's not really how it works).

First time in the modern era with two perfect games in a season and also the first time there has been three in two years.

Also, there have been three no-hitters this year and the record is seven in both 1990 and 1991.
