  1. would love to see Marshall go a second inning here
  2. grrrrreaaat throw by Fukudome there... nothing like giving up a run one 2 simple singles and lol Cardinals fans who boo Zamrano, but are in love with Carpenter because he is "compettivie".... good job to get out of the inning. Maybe only one more AB for both Pujols and Holliday
  3. No he isnt and its not even close Theriot had a weak arm. Catsros is just out of control. Castro has also had some trouble flipping the ball to Baker today. Everyone wants to annoint Castro as the next greta thing, but his defense is terrible Unreal. You're gonna need to try harder. Theriot has a higher Zone Rating, 6.13 to 5.94 and a higher field% by a lot, .974 to .955. Castro does have a slight edge in Range Facto, 4.16 to 4.10. Castro also makes those silly dumb mistakes on easy plays. Hes young so it is expected, but for the time being, Therio is a better fielder.
  4. I also never thought I would say "HEY! Jonny Gomes has TWO WALKS today!" and then he has 4, haha has there ever been a person in history with 4 runs and no ABs?

  6. I never thought I would say this, but our current SS is a worse fielder than Ryan Theriot
  7. not a very good AB by Byrd at the end..... at least this hurts St Louis
  8. does Lou understand that this Wells cant bunt??? i guess he doesnt and we waste PH opprotunity and the inning... and im late to the part but tell me again why Soto is sitting? Edit: Then you leave a tired Wells in there to face Stubbs, who does beter against righties than lefties.. with Marshall in the pen
  9. Ted Lilly, thank you for your service to this club. You too Theriot. While you were extremly overrated in your time here, you showed up everyday and gave it your all. I wish you both the best in LA
  10. im sorry, but when was this? (not being sarcastis, im reading these posts a few hours after the game and cant exactly pinpoint when it happened over even for which team
  11. That was one of the worst games of baseball I have ever seen in my life. As my friend put it best, "The cubs are attempting to set the record for most ways to lose a game in only one game" The play by Theriot to not even attempt to get a double play via two force outs and save a run was just terrible. And to think, we were a base hit away from having the tying run on deck, but of course, Theriot gets overpowerd by an 87 mph fastball. ugh
  12. What a joke that whole series was. I was there the night before when Zambrano went crazy, gave up 3 HR and hit Edmonds twice. Just another part of a bad year. Today was brutal. My ONE game a year that I dont have to work and they do that. Grabow is horrible and we still cant get the big hits when we need it. Oh yeah and that Pujols guys is pretty good to
  13. When attending soccer games in Bridgview, they have a saying that goes "Columbus is a suburb of Detroit" noting Columbus' small size and proximity to detroit. Well it may not apply here, but what the hell St Louis is a suburb of Detroit http://www.mediabistro.com/fishbowlDC/original/hate.jpg
  14. Apparently MLB has allowed David Ortiz to take steroids this month. 10 HR this year, i think 9 in May? Joe West is a moron, The ejection of ozzie and Buehrle were bad, but the second one was a balk (as far as i know) Overall, i think baseball needs to do a better job of explaning what a balk is. To my understanding, you cant motion with your body towards home, which is what Buehrle did. What he made it seem like is that the foot cant cross the rubber or something. Either way MLB should try and educate umpires, players and fans on what a balk is, kid of like the way they tried to stress the true strikezone a few years (myabe 10?) ago.
  15. Thats what happens when you walk the pitcher, and your infield plays defense like they have a blindfold on. wow i didnt even get to see that part (my username is actually quite lietral) I just always like to use the hits/runs ratio as a gauage for effectiveness. Hits shows you have skill, but the ability to score runs wihtout hits always shows just that, you know how to score, and in the end, are the things that we all appreciate. did this game remind anybody else of the NLDS? Just the fact that it was a looong game, not well played, and in the end, it was the Dodgers adding it on with a dead crowd behind them....
  16. It'd be better if the platoon was Baker/Fontenot and we shipped slappys ass off to somewhere else. I support this theory. Theriot has been overrated for to long All we have to do is trick some team into thinking he is actually good
  17. anybody else annoyed that we have five more hits but two less runs?
  18. Bullpen. Easy. Numbers have ALWAYS been better in relief, and you have to give Credit to Lou and Hendyr fro keeping this guy in the pen. As mnay bad decisons we have made, keeping him in the bullpen has been brilliant
  19. shouldnt you bee watching a bunch of canadian and russians or something?
  20. to be fair, it was abig zone tonight. Overall though i felt the home plate umpiring was inconsistent this series. Not from game to game but inside each game, could never tell what the zone was, but for at least the last few innings tonight, it was a bit bigger than usual
  21. also, if Baker is in, why not bat him lead off? .405 obp vs lefties this year, .354 lifetime, much better numbers than Theriot vs lefties
  22. 3-0 counts that end in weak ground outs piss me off
  23. Yes, Treanor did a piss poor job of blocking the plate and Nady got a hand on the plate before he was tagged. actually i didnt think the job was that bad. He gave Nadya funk angle. At where he was on the plate, having his legs like that is actually kinda hard t get passed. Sometimes guys close up the legs to much and guys can slide around it easily
