anytime you can lock up your 12 point, 10 rebound 1 block center with bad feet for 12 million dollars a year, YOU HAVE TO DO IT (bill simmons voice)

Yeah, Flames, why was this a better deal than expected? What were you expecting, a max contract?

And who breaks their fall with a closed fist?

He's probably referring to the rumor that Noah was holding out for 70 million originally

Yep. I was fully expecting GarPax to cave to that, especially after the Deng deal a few years back.

He probably punched something.

670 in Chicago was saying that from the research they did, almost all injuries of the fifth metacarpal occur due to punching something.

Haha yeah my roommate is a med student and he was laughing about that when i told him it was fifth metacarpal.

Oh well, maybe he can get in better playing shape to avoid an on-the-court injury.

did anyone watch the preseason game? Anyone wanna let me know how they looked?

After the Bears game I'm starting to think its wise to buck up on some Bulls news

I saw the entire 3rd quarter and part of the 4th. Looked like a typical Bulls game. Rose could get to the cup whenever he wanted but the rest of the offense looked stagnant, for the most part. Korver's shot is beautiful.

I'm not taking a whole lot out of the preseason but I think the first month of the regular season is going to be very similar to how we looked last year (until we get Boozer back).

This team is gonna be good. LOVING the new offensive system. No more pointless pick and rolls at the top where they show hard and just trap Rose. The ball movement, the off-ball movement, the spacing is great. And this team is deeeeep.

I'm totally drinking the kool-aid. 55+ wins for this team is a reasonable goal. Tommy T is a beast.

We're gonna smash the Celtics and then we'll see about the Heat.

Nice to see Lu tearing it up in preseason. Not that it means that much, but he's looking really good. And he's hitting the 3 pointer. Not bad for a player that was universally viewed as a mistake signing.

I've always been a believer of Deng. Sure, he was a let down in '08-'09 (when he was unhealthy), but look at his numbers last year. He averaged 17 and 7 while shooting 38% from behind the arc. Thibodeau seems to be trying to make him more well rounded with a post up and Deng is showing he can finally finish through a foul and even draw a foul. I think Deng is going to have a very good year.

And he's only 25!

Sure, he's not Carmello. But he's only a tier down from him offensively and provides very good defense at a position that is going to need it in the East with Pierce, Carter, and LeBron to contend with.

He shot 38% on very limited volume. Looks like Thibs is getting him to look for the 3 ball more and it's working out so far. If he could double his volume and maintain a decent percentage that'd be huge for the offense. So far the new offensive system looks like it's doing wonders for him.

Limited volume, yes. I agree with Thibs that if he shoots 38%, he should be encouraged to shoot more until his percentage drops. I always wondered why he so often passed up open 3's last year and shuffled a few feet inside the line and shot a long 2. Didn't get it at all considering he shot a decent percentage from 3. I'm glad to see Thibs encouraging him to take it.
