More from Dan Gilbert per ESPN:

Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert says LeBron James "quit" during the playoffs and should be accountable for his actions.

In a phone interview with the AP, Gilbert says "people have covered up for [James] for way too long. Tonight we saw who he really is."

I laughed.

Beasley to T-Wolves for 2nd round pick.

Also allows Miami to get back Haslem and Wright using Bird rights. They're waiting for Mike Miller and they contacted Jason Williams to play for minimum.

It does? That blows. Haslem is a real piece. I hope someone outbids them for Mike Miller.

If they get Shaq or Brad to take the minimum they're going to be set.

They won't use the bird rights on Haslem or Wright. In order to have the money to sign the big 3 they have to renounce those rights. They may try to sign them to the minimum or with whatever they have left, but those bird rights are gone.

yeah, i was running it through in my mind. there are cap holds that would prevent anything like that from happening. you can't fill up your roster with free agents and then sign your own guys and expect to be able to exercise their bird rights, anyway.

So Jason Williams is going to take $500K, little more than half the salary he made last year to play bitch to the big 3. Let's see.

I know I'd say NO if 3 guys who are going to be worth a billion dollars between them ask me to take a paycut off my annual 6 figure salary to play with them.

I have to say I thought LeBron would choose Cleveland for sure when I heard about tonight's special. I thought this because I didn't believe he would rub his signing with another team in the faces of his fans like that.

The way he announced it, along with the team he signed with (taking the path of least resistance), showed the world what a selfish, cowardly, self-aggrandizing, narcissistic piece of [expletive] he is. And he pretty much just flushed any chance he had a being considered the greatest of all time down the crapper.

i guess noah is making fun of them already, saying "they're gonna be real hollywood down there"

i like boozer and noah firing off the warning shots. it's probably all futile, but i still like the atittude.

I don't know if it's futile until I see what the Bulls do with the rest of their money.

The TV special was a poor choice, but you're being way too harsh.

apparently the t-wolves swapped 1st rounders with the heat in that beasley trade, and it's not lottery protected

which means the heat are going to be getting a lottery pick. just [expletive] great

I guess the T-wolves aren't content to just screwing over their own team now.

Could the Bulls have gotten Beasley? I'm sure they can offer more than a 2nd rounder.

Where would he play? Deng at 3, Boozer at 4, Noah at 5. He's not gonna be willing to come off the bench.

Gilbert, who has owned the Cavs for five years, said he was most disappointed by James' behavior in the months leading up to the superstar's announcement that he is going to Miami to play with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. Gilbert said James never returned a single phone message or text since the end of the season and that the Cavs were not informed of James' decision until he went on the air.

that's pretty bad

Who knows, maybe he would on a good team.

hopefully lebron didn't pull a gob bluth and mail the "insurance letter" for his house into lake erie. i expect it to be burned down my morning.

One player I wouldn't mind seeing the Bulls make a run for is Matt Barnes. He isn't a great player, but he is a tough defender, he has that swagger that Noah has (not that means anything), he's long and athlethic. Not saying he can stop James or Wade (not many of those out there, those who can are not available) but his length and athlethicism would give James and Wade problems. He seems to be the perfect Thibo player.

Hey, he had a bunch of money donated to the Boys and Girls Club tonight. Cleveland can feel good that LeBron used them to raise money for a good cause.

I'm curious how the majority of basketball fans feel about this. My guess is that he's the one of the most hated athletes right now. Wade may be up there too.

There was just nothing about LeBron you could hate before this right? He treated his old HS teammates well. He had fun with his pro teammates. He threw powder in the air. He looked like he was having a blast. It's hard to believe the same guy who could do all of that can turn around and act like a horse's ass for a week.

I guess I just don't understand his burning desire to play with Chris Bosh. Why would Bosh be the deal breaker for any team?

Yeah that sucks that the Heat will get a lottery pick but it at least makes a little more sense that the #2 pick from 2 years ago is worth something.

The Knicks sent Isiah Thomas to Akron last night to give a last minute pitch on their behalf. How is that a good idea?

I used to like him and always defended him in arguments vs. Kobe. The left handed free throw, his play after that in the Celtics series and some of the things he said made me wonder. This whole circus makes me really not like him and it seems to be pretty common. I don't really have a reason to dislike Wade that much although leading the Bulls on is kind of shitty.

I think Bosh's personality is a lure for these guys, they all seem to love him. He is getting pumped up more than he should be though.
