The oddest thing about the Boozer deal is that it's not quite a max deal, and leaves just enough room for another max contract without having to unload any contracts. So at least the Bulls think they are still in play for LeBron.

 

This is what is confusing me about max deals. 5/80 is 16m per. Amare got 5/99.7 or nearly 20m per. The Atlanta guy got 6/119, nearly 20m per.

 

What the heck is a max contract? Is it fluid for every player?

Its based off their last years salary I believe.

I believe that could happen. Depending on how good the 3 point shooter is.

edit: actually no I can see a 10 game improvement though.

Its more that if Lebron goes to NY, that makes Cleveland irrelavant, and Im not scared of New York with Lebron and Amare. As long as Lebron doesnt go to Miami I can see the Bulls getting a 3 seed.

 

Don't forget that the Bulls record last year is a little skewed based off Rose playing hurt for the 1st 7 weeks of the season. Its not as big as leap as you think it is.

That was a safe estimate. I think they could improve by more then 10 games, but going from 41 wins to about 46-48 wins especially with a rookie head coach seems to be about right.

i doubt anyone really believes that. but if they get a solid shooting guard, is it ridiculous to think they could win between 50-55 games (if the main player stay relatively healthy)?

They won 41 games last year with Noah missing time, Rose hobbled for the first half of the year, and the worst tactical coach in the NBA. They just added one of the best interior scorers in basketball. Rose will get better. Noah will too. That's a lot of good stuff. The only loss is Hinrich and he's really not very good.
