It is what it is. I feel very good about my Chicago winter sports right now, with the Hawks a championship team, and Rose continuing to develop into an attraction as an NBA star.

Two championship calibre clubs at the same time was a pleasant fantasy, but not necessary for me to still feel real good about where we're at between the NBA and NHL right now.

An optimistic Soul. Weird.

This sucks. This offseason is basically going to clinch irrelevancy through 2016.

Not necessarily. We've unloaded a ton of bad money. Lebron/Wade/Bosh aren't the only good players in this league. We don't know the end point for Rose, or really Noah either, right now.

Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh have decided to sign with the Miami Heat while continuing to recruit LeBron James to help them form an All-Star triumvirate that threatens to shift the NBA’s balance of power, two sources with knowledge of the plans told Yahoo! Sports.

“They think they’ve got a real chance to pull this off with LeBron,” a league source said.

Said an official with one team that made a formal presentation to James: “It’s down to Cleveland or Miami for him.”

Wade and Bosh are Maimi bound. What a major fail of an offseason for bulls management.

I don't know if fail is the right word because I'm not sure they did anything wrong. Wade was always staying put (and eff him hard for using his kids in Chicago as drama for his documentary) and Bosh wanted to join LeBron or Wade, just not in Cleveland. Now LeBron will probably stay in Cleveland. There's probably not much more that Paxson, Forman, Reinsdorf could have done.

It's a failure compared to what they set out to do this offseason, but I'm not blaming them for anything.

It's possible to do everything right...try as hard as you can, and still fail. That doesn't mean we're all crapping on the Bulls as an organization. They just weren't able to get this done. It was a failure.

Colin Cowherd reporting LeBron's news conference is not in Cleveland. The winning team will get a call from LeBron 5 minutes before.

Hopefully the Bulls have something with LeBron. Get Boozer now to sweeten the pot.

I hope Cowherd isn't full of [expletive] like he usually is. Although, it would be like LBJ at this point to not have the announcement in Cleveland just to throw everyone off.

I agree about Boozer at this point -- what can it hurt? Don't we want him either way?

Wasn't it already reported to not be in Cleveland, but in Akron?

Does Boozer even want to play for the Bulls? He's probably waiting for the Lebron chips to fall like everyone else.

So I guess it's Boozer and/or Lee! Yeah, to a 50 win team that can get to the 2nd round. I'm so excited!!!!

I think I'd rather have David Lee. A couple years younger. Slightly more athletic. Probably a better rebounder and scorer also.

I'm still not excited.

You could go back to not caring.

It doesn't matter, Boozer will follow the money.

Boozer and Lee aren't going to sign now. Why would they? They are going to wait and try to get max contracts. If LeBron stays that leaves the Nets and the Bulls fighting over these guys.

The most important thing to do is to not vastly overpay for leftovers, which is what they did the last two times they were spurned by free agents. The last thing the Bulls need right now is the next Ron Mercer/Eddie Robinson.

Carlos Boozer is the next Ron Mercer. Overrated, declining and injury-prone. This is going to suck.

Boozer is overrated? That's a new one.

let me point out that this eliminates miami from lebron's plans. they cannot sign him, at least, if they want to fill out a team in a few years. if they are all max players, they will all be making 20 mil in like 2 years. that's 60 mil in salary and now they're capped out. they can't continue to sign low-priced veterans because you can't sign free agents if you're over the cap. they'll have to sign 9 players (assuming they trade chalmers and beasley to do it) to 5 year deals averaging around 1.2 mil per year (though they can give raises) while utilizing their mid-level exception on the 10th. if they keep beasley and chalmers, it becomes 8 veterans for a lot less money than 1 mil.

they can't continue to re-stock their roster with players every year, it will have to remain static. they'll always be at this critical level where their players cannot retire or get injured. they can't do it, they wouldn't want to. those players would have had to take a major pay-cut to all play there. they're done in free agency.

Yes he does.

If we sign Boozer and have a spot open for LBJ, it'll be either us or Cleveland.

If you live outside Chicago, think of all the money you will save not having to buy the NBA package.
