WojYahooNBA Cavs officials are confident of two things now, multiple sources say: Chris Bosh won't play for them next season, but LeBron James will.

That sounds very contradictory, imo. If you can't land Bosh how are you going to convince James to stay with essentially the same team that got eliminated by Boston. Not to mention this would Bosh is likely heading to either Chicago or Miami with Wade, and Boozer ending up in New Jersey. James would still have to get past that same Boston team, a very good Orlando team, improving Chicago and Miami teams and still relatively young and talent Hawks team, all the while your team did nothing to get you some help.

Yeah, that doesnt make much sense. Then again, it's also just about the same team that won 60 games two years in a row. Maybe he believes that they just got unlucky/were in a slump in the playoffs or something. Who knows, but loyalty seems to be pretty important to him and that might just keep him at home.

OR it could just be an incorrect rumor. Either way.

Or he knows he could have won if he didn't throw the games in retaliation to Delonte West banging his mother. :D

On the one hand LeBron could justify last year's playoff flop because his elbow was injured. But I really didn't like the way they went out. I don't think LeBron did either. The team just seemed to give up. And LeBron hasn't given any signs himself that Cleveland is the frontrunner.

Any chance Ray Allen leaves Boston? I doubt he will now that Rivers and Pierce are coming back.

Well can they get a S&T done for Boozer? Or is that bridge burned because of the way he left Cleveland?

I can't imagine the Knicks would want to help Lebron stay by S&Ting Lee to them. They could use a player like Varejao though...so could the Jazz.

It was just an example. Bottom line is LeBron's Cavs were the best team in the NBA last regular season. Getting LBJ back and adding a couple pieces would easily make them the favorites again.

I get loyalty, but IMO a player has to think of his career before the organization, cause a player's career is short enough (in the grand scheme of things) whereas the Cavs will still be around after James is gone. Look if he believes in his heart he can win in Cleveland, then he should stay, but if there is a doubt he shouldn't be wasting his good years trying to erase that doubt. KG learned the hard way that it just isn't going to happen in one place. For KG that moment came after the 2003-04 WCF game in which they were eliminated. (Granted KG was never on a 60 win team in Minnesota) Cleveland has lost three times in the EC Semis, once in the EC Finals, and once in the NBA Finals? When will that moment hit James that it just won't happen in Cleveland? I've said it before, but James needs to push through all the emotional ties the Cleveland will throw at him and weigh his decision wisely. If he believes he can win the Cleveland, he should stay, but if he has a hint of doubt........

Favorites to get the best regular season record perhaps.

Isn't that the same as being the favorite to win the championship? I didn't say they would win. I said favorites to win. If they have the best odds of being the best in the regular season, wouldn't they naturally have the best odds to be the best in the postseason too.

i don't get why cleveland being confident is a sign that they will get him back? that doesn't really make any sense, unless they know something we don't. in which case, why wouldn't james just get this over with?

The Bulls have done everything they could have to get a big name guy. If all they are left with is Boozer, I really can't be angry at Bulls management.

Unless it's true that they told LeBron his crew wouldn't get special privileges

I agree with the Bulls on that.

yeah, who cares about winning championships. [expletive] that guy.

Jordan didn't need "special privileges" for his boys back in the day to win championships, neither does James. If he wants to stay in Cleveland fine, but Reinsdorf isn't going to give James that kind of power, when he didn't give that power to Jordan.

First of all, superstars DO get treated differently, and they should. Just like star performers get special perks in any type of company. Why do we have to act like this isn't the case?

And I think losing out on a player o0f LeBron's magnitude because you want to treat him on the same level as Taj Gibson or Luol Deng is absolutely ridiculous

Do you want to win, or do you want to have a team if disciplined "equals" who never get out of the Eastern Conference? It's as simple as that, really.

It's hard to say. Basketball, more than any other sport, is where you can basically mark it down that a team with one of the 3 or 4 best records in the league is going to win the championship. There are teams that go full throttle trying to lock up a #1 seed and then there are older teams (i.e. the Celtics) who seemingly only turn it on for the playoffs. Some of the old Bulls teams (in 1993 especially) and the Shaq-Kobe Laker teams did the asme thing.

There's usually a strong correlation for sure. The Cavs were breaking a lot of long held stasitical patterns by winning a bunch of games over 2 years and not even making the Finals. Maybe it's just an anomaly, maybe not. I can guarantee you the idea that it's not just an anomaly has crawled into Lebron's head though.

There's no way an egomaniac like LeBron actually thinks that he can't win a championship in Cleveland.

Maybe he thinks is more likely that he wins elsewhere, but he's can't possibly think he doesn't have a decent chance in Cleveland.

1: I get that superstars get treated differently. Didn't say otherwise.

2: I never said I wanted him to be treated like Taj Gibson. I said his "boys" should not be given the same power they had in Cleveland. They are rumors they ran the joint even without James there. Don't know if it's true, but there are rumors.

3: I do want to win. I'd offer James just about anything he wants, short of giving his boys "special privileges."

James should get the perks, the special privileges NOT HIS HOMIES. That's all I said.

And I think his "homies" should be able to do whatever the hell they want if it's the difference between us coming away with LeBron or Carlos Boozer. This organization can't afford to pass on LeBron over something like that. They just can't. It's about WINNING above all else.

Is there anybody here that would take this scenario right now?

Cavs- LeBron (nobody else)

Miami- Wade, Bosh

Knicks- (nobody significant)

Bulls- Boozer, Miller

Anybody? I'm not saying I would, but if we whiff on Wade/LeBron, this wouldn't be that bad. You essentially have LeBron wasted on the Cavs, the Knicks stuck with no real chance of winning anything (this year a least), and the Heat with a really good, but beatable, team

Meanwhile we look pretty good with

Rose

Miller

Deng

Boozer

Noah

If everything played out like that, I feel like we'd have a legitimate chance at beating anybody in the East if some things go our way (Boozer stays healthy, Rose takes another leap, etc)

Then again, we'd still get worked by whoever comes out of the West. At least we'd have a legitimate team though- which we haven't had in over a decade.

They can do whatever the hell they want to, just not with the Bulls. If they need help getting a business started, fine. If they need to get a recommendation for a job, so be it. I just don't think the Bulls should sell the soul just to get one player.

Ok, now let's go back to Bosh's tweet from earlier this afternoon-

chrisbosh Today is a GREAT day!

Really seems like both those dudes made their decisions within a few hours of each other. Considering how much we heard about Bosh wanting to play with LBJ, there's a good chance they've agreed to play somewhere together, right?

I'm worried about the Miami thing happening again

No way Mike Miller can guard 2s. He's strictly a spot up shooting 3 if you ask me.

I could live with Reddick and Boozer.

You think Reddick can guard the 2s any better?
