The Cardinals won another ridiculously stupid game

They should have been swept by the Mets and end up winning it, in completely anti-Cubs fashion

The Cardinals had 16 baserunners to the Mets 6. The Mets had one hit in the last 7 innings, how exactly are the Cardinals lucky to have won this game?

what are you a dumb ass? They should have been swept because the Mets had them down 3-0 early and had the great John Maine and and ____ Stoner on the mound. And in game 1 Ollie Perez out pitched Chris Carpenter and was leading 1-0 after 7. Only a moron couldnt see how the Cards should have been swept in that series.

The Cardinals are always lucky. Pixie dust 4eva!!!1!

It's great getting a 107-pitch complete game the day after having to play 20 innings. Wainwright kicks so much ass.

And is probably just as clean as all of the Larussa superstars.

Yep, best record in the NL since 2000 and it's all due to PEDs and teh luck!!1!

It's mostly Pujols. But, you don't think that McGwire helped you win any games during that era? Also I am sure in the early 90's fans of the Rangers and Ms were saying man you know the A's are cheating and the A's fans were all no way man best record since '85. Larussa is a cheater, plain and simple.

McGwire was a 4.5-win player in 2000. He was worth less than half a win in 2001, and then he retired.

Fair enough. Still I don't wanna live in a dream world were every pitcher that Duncan touches turns to gold from his great coaching, then leaves and immediately unlearns what Duncan did to him. I think there is only one logical reason why this happens over and over again.

You're just being funny, right? Joking?

There is no way you're serious.

I'm just poking fun at the pixie dust nonsense. Because it's precisely that, nonsense. And I didn't just show up. I've been reading and posting here since before the season began. Also, FWIW, I've been complimentary about quite a few of the players on the Cubs. I'm not here to bash the Cubs or even to promote the Cardinals (though I make no bones about being a Cardinals fan). Most of my posts on this board deal with baseball in general.

The "Dave Duncan turns crap into gold" stuff is way overblown. There have been many failures, as is the case with every team, but Duncan has helped some pitchers (veterans mostly) improve their game. Sometimes a change in repertoire works, and sometimes it doesn't. Joel Pineiro, for instance, eventually learned just how effective a sinker can be, but it didn't happen immediately...and his success has carried over into this season (27 ground balls vs. 13 fly balls) with another club.

Oh yay, we have already reached the point in the season where the arrogant ass Cardinal fans come here defending their "greatness" to a board of Cub fans. Yipppeeeee

This post cant be directed at me. There is no possible way you could this from my comment. There was nothing arrogant in my post and I do not deem the Cardinals "great."

Im talking about you Cardinal fans being shocked that Cub fans talk about the Cardinals "luckiness" etc...on a Cubs board. If you expect a bunch of compliments about their team, its not going to happen here. It shouldnt really be that hard to understand.

This post expresses a totally different thought than you're first one. I dont think people are shocked, I think they are just using analysis to prove your "luck" theories wrong. I dont really care about this issue either way, so, I'll drop it.

Just making sure I'm not being accused of being arrogan just because I couldnt tell if a guy was joking or not when he claimed all of Dave Duncan's pitchers turn to gold because he gives them steroids.
