Daytona was postponed. Doubleheader tomorrow.

So glad we're staying in Mesa. The media consistently ignored the impact on the team anywhere beyond spring training.

Nice game for Struck. Heh, hope he sustains his 1.8 ERA!

Good to see Flaherty getting untracked, and Castillo.

What's been up with Castillo. Has he been hurt? He only has like 15 or 18 AB's; that's less than half-time playing action, right?

i was surprised when chirinos made the cubs' top 30 prospects on BA, but i guess he's hit pretty well the last two years and is playing a defense-first position. still, he's almost 26 so i'm guessing he'll need to be in iowa for some of this year. maybe there is backup potential with him, which is still better than i would've thought a year or two ago.

Flaherty wakes up with a single, two walks, two runs, three driven in and a walk-off two run blast in extras. Welcome Ryan. Glad to have you back.

Looks like Bobby Scales is campaigning to be 2010s 2008 Micah Hoffpauir/2009 Jake Fox. Im rooting for ya little guy. He finally got a taste of that coffee and he wants more.

I know. Unfortunately, Baker and Fontenot currently have the two best batting averages on the Cubs at the moment.

I'm not a huge proponent of bringing up Castro anytime soon, but Theriot's a lot more vulnerable than either of those guys right now. Of course, that could all change in a week or so.

Another couple of weeks of inconsistency out of Theriot both offensively and defensively and I think Castro's name will be involved in every press conference.

Baker and Font really dont have anything to worry about from Scales, whose major league ceiling is as a utlity man. However, if Chad Tracy keeps doing his best Aaron Miles impression,, and Scales keeps up what hes doing, that might be a possibility. As I recall, Scales was able to play 2B, 3B, and a bit of outfield, maybe even SS, and as long as Nady can play the occasional 1B, Tracy is made obsolete if he cant hit his way out of a wet paper bag. Also, Scales is a switch hitter. I am rooting for Tracy, but lets face it, last time he was a serviceable major leaguer was in 2006.

it was *soooo* good to see the Chiefs bats finally wake up on Sunday...I was starting to wonder. Also great to see a game with no errors for the good guys. I was impressed with Struck...he struggled a bit in the first couple of innings, but then really seemed to settle down and pitch well for the last 3 he was in. Woo hoo - looking forward to seeing Ted on Monday!

I doubt it, the media loves it some crappy white guy who hustes.

Not as much as they like a good story and something they can latch onto when questioning the manager/GM.
