So in trying to find the LOB record for a team in an extra inning game I found out the MLB record for LOB is owned by the Reds when they won the WS in 1976. Good bit of trivia.

Also found a Cubs game in 2008 that they left 34 on base in 12 innings. Won the game though.

There's no way the Cubs left 34 on base in a 12 inning game. They would have had to have left the bases loaded in at least 10 of the innings with two runners left on the other two.

Saw some post on it on some random answer site and then went and found the game and it is in the box score from Cubs.com.

We scored 10 runs and won 10-8.

And only left 15 on base...

The individual LOB was 34, which is much different than the team LOB.

Unless I am blind it says 34.

ESPN also has 34 listed.

EDIT: How is the the individual different than team? Never heard this rule, not that it doesn't exist.

Team LOB: 15.

The 34 is counted as the inning goes along, let's say it's 1st and 2nd with no outs and Soto strikes out, he would get two LOB which would go into that column that has 34 but it's not an official LOB since it didn't end the inning.

Never knew that before. Thought you only got LOB if you end the inning.

Too bad it wasn't tomorrow night's game that went so long. The Mets have to travel to Chicago to play a day game against the Cubs on Monday; it would be nice for them to be exhausted when the game starts.

They play a night game in New York but still it would be nice.

Other than the time of day and where they're playing I had it right.

To expand on this thought, if the next two guys struck out also, all three players would get two LOB that would go into that column (six LOB total) but the team LOB would only be two.

I just read that Manuel had K-Rod warming up every inning from the 8th to the 19th, meaning he threw over 100 pitches in the bullpen. This might have been the most poorly managed game in baseball history.

How is that possible? To leave 34 on base in 12 innings you have to leave the bases loaded in 10 of the innings; don't think that would happen in the major leagues

I was wondering why KRod only pitched 1 inning last night.

That can't possibly be true.

I suspect he's looking at individual LOB, not team LOB.
