Pelfrey threw 109 pitches on Thursday and now is back out there tonight. His next start of course was supposed to be against the Cubs next week.

Didn't Dusty do that to Harang a year or two ago?

So tomorrow he would have had his short session, right?

How did the Mets score that inning? All yahoo said was Pagan singled and scored on a sacrifice fly.

Yeah it was a game in SD, he was coming off a 100+ pitch start and then I want to say pitched 30-40 pitches in extras on 3 or less days rest. I believe he also made his next scheduled start.

Has NSBB ever had a Cardinals gameday thread (especially since this was started only 4 innings ago) longer than a Cubs gameday thread? Edited by Sammy's Boombox

I believe Harang was on 2 days rest that night (which is more normal to throw a side session). But they left Harang out there for something like 63 pitches. I doubt the Mets will leave Pelfrey out there that long even if the game goes back to being tied again.

And then his arm fell off.

Found it came off a 103 pitch outing on 3 days rest to throw 63 pitches in extras, 166 total in 4 days.

I don't care who "wins" this game. Both teams should get a loss for this. Edited by otis89

So in trying to find the LOB record for a team in an extra inning game I found out the MLB record for LOB is owned by the Reds when they won the WS in 1976. Good bit of trivia.

Also found a Cubs game in 2008 that they left 34 on base in 12 innings. Won the game though.
