Both of those are the right call. Rose got completely stopped by the foul, then started again and took two steps and shot. Deng got fouled well after the clock expired.

What are you watching on the Rose call? They just showed the replay again, you want to retract?

To say nothing of the 3 "fouls" called on Miller and Noah.

The two calls on Miller were terrible calls. The call on Noah was easy. Noah was throwing his body forward into Shaq. Noah has been fouling Shaq the entire series and getting away with it, yet Shaq has been called for plenty of offensive fouls. Again, the calls on Miller were complete crap, but go back and look at the replay on the Noah foul.

Reggie Miller needs to get off TV.

It's like he has a grudge against everyone. I think he is still ticked that Jordan did not let him get his hands on a championship.

You think? I'd be shocked if he didn't. Imagine him, Malone, and Ewing talking about the 90s.

Don't forget Kemp, Penny and Barkley.

What am I missing? Noah's whole "hand extended against Shaq's waist" is supposed to be a foul every time but they never called it. Not once.

I got this guy Dwight Howard ahead of him.

There are three guys on every team that are better than Varejao. I'm not trying to diminish the guy, but he isn't top-50 in my book.

Varejao is a ridiculously good defender. Like, really, really good. He doesn't get as much credit (and understandably so) because of all his flops and general annoying play. Most people just don't realize how good the guy really is.

You might want to consult a physician. You apparently missed a 40 lb arm elbowing a man in the head right in the middle of the frame, completely unobstructed. Of course, you also missed shaq throwing shoulders into Noah, a similarly illegal move (but one done with far more force) to Noah's hand against his waist, but one that Shaq has managed to get away with for a very long time.

I am really proud of the Bulls. They showed they could hold their own for the most part against a far superior team. I think it bodes well for the future, especially with the core of Rose, Deng, Noah (who I would take over Varejao, in a heartbeat) going forward. What they desperately need is a guy who can hit a three with SOME regularity, as well as a post scorer. Bosh and a guy who can stretch the defense could make this team dangerous. I think that combo could be as beneficial to the Bulls as getting Wade (who I would love as well).

Great effort though Bulls, I am proud of what they accomplished this past week, especially when it seems everyone had them pegged for a 20+ loss per game sweep.

I saw the elbow. But, you don't honestly think anything looked intentional about that, do you? He spun the opposite direction.

I love how everyone thinks the officials suck, but fans of every team only see it as sucking against them. On RealGM, the Bulls posters were comparing the officiating to Kings-Lakers. So I go over to realcavsfans to see if they see the same stuff I am seeing, and they are talking about how horrible the officials were for them.

Something has to be done about the officiating, or at least the perception about the officiating. Discussions about the refs seemingly dominate the discussion of games. Everyone thinks refs are biased against certain teams/players, or just the home team in general. And way too many people really believe that games are fixed on a regular basis. I realize that officiating basketball is tough, and no matter how good they are, they are going to miss calls. But I really wish the NBA would work to change that perception so everyone would shut up about the refs.*

*said by a poster who was constantly bitching about the officiating on RealGM tonight (although not nearly as bad as the majority of posters)

Umm... It's not legal to accidentally elbow people in the head like that. If you close your eyes running down the lane, you are similarly not immune to a charging foul. Run around backwards and accidentally set moving screens? Foul. And that's aside from the fact that he had to know exactly where Noah was because he had just struck him with his shoulder, rolled his back against him, and had his hand on his back.

dwight howard blocks a couple more shots, but varejao is much more of an annoyance in the paint. overall they're at least equals

I really don't know what can be done. The NBA is getting faster and faster and calls have to be made in a fraction of a second. Because we have high-def TVs with slow motion we can see things the refs just can't with the naked eye.

it's true. no one likes to admit it because he's such an annoying flopper, but it's for real.
