at this point i'm just hoping that hendry doesn't shortsightedly trade good prospects for middle relief help, a la jon garland for matt karchner.

they may as well go ahead and add a digit to each number on the AC sign outside wrigley.

At least we ended up in the playoffs that season. What did we give up for Aguilera?

Wow. And you get on me for being negative.

So how did Silva look anyway? I dodnt tue in until the end. Was he good or did he get lucky? Even if he does end up as the 2nd coming of Jason Marquis, it could end up being the best thing we could have gotten back for Bradley. Maybe Rothschild really did help him figure some things out.

There were a bunch of hard hit balls that went right to Cubs fielders, but Silva kept in the zone, worked fast, and didn't walk anyone. He looked halfway decent. He might have left because of an injury, but no one's quite sure.

I said it in the game thread, but weve seen a lot of flies to the warning track by Cubs hitters, and when the weather heats up, a lot of those balls are going to leave the yard. If we get the type of starting pitching that weve seen the last 3 games, we'll start winning more games. Caridad was brutal today, but Ive liked everything else Ive seen from him so far.

He settled in as the game went on. All the really good defensive plays were in the first few innings. He was doing pretty well his last 2-3 innings or so.

Bullpen fallout after Caridad implosion: Cubs considering bringing Lilly up after one start at Iowa to move Gorzelanny to pen. 15 minutes ago via web

Hahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!

I'm so much more pissed at Lou than anyone else. Horrible bullpen management and already jerking around his [expletive] lineup construction 4 games into the season. I'll consider it failure if he's back next year even if Hendry is gone.

I suppose thats the only logical move. Risk further injury to one of your best starters so you can move a guy who has never done anything to lead us to believe that he'll be any better than what we already have to the pen.

Good news: Nick Stavinoah just hit a 2 run, 2 out home run off Hoffman in the 9th to give the Cards the lead

Yeah, I just posted that in the GDT. Most predictable development of the night, especially after the way the Cubs and Bulls games went, was STL erasing a 4-1 deficit.
