is soriano's contract up soon?

Yes. Also, we won the 2003 NLCS and our team isn't named after the baby version of an animal.

We win the series then after that?

Of course not. The Cubs will never win the World Series.

Well, the first 15 minutes of the game couldn't have gone any better, followed by 3 hours of the worst possible baseball. At least there are 161 left to go, and I feel confident saying that it can't get any worse!

But, we weren't the cubs in this scenario?

I love the no trade clause, like that's gonna be an issue.

He'll be getting the Milton Bradley treatment this year, so I wouldn't be shocked if he waived it

The no trade clause isn't going to matter.

You know better than that.

It can always get worse with the Cubs.

Always.

If Soriano were to, God forbid, cease to be a living human being the Cubs would not have to pay his beneficiaries the rest of his salary, would they?

You are officially to blame for everything that happens between now and the end of the season.

Comcast decided to have an outage just before the game started. I raced over to a local bar to watch.

I now vaguely regret my decision.

I hope you got rip-roaring drunk to compensate.

Are you Jim Hendry?

It will when Hendry eats most of it before he's canned after this year

We're all still high on Easter Sunday.

If I were, it would not be beyond the pale to suggest I off myself.

I said "God forbid".

So, you're saying there'll be a resurrection come Wednesday?

Suffice to say the thread has been quite the entertainment, moreso then the game. Since I am not expecting much from the Cubs this year, I can say that there will be a few losses that don't bother me, including today's.

Pretty much too much chatter for essentially a meaningless game.
