Why pull Marshall? Lou is an idiot, and why not let Colvin bat after such a great spring?

Because spring training means exactly as much as how Colvin did in my MLB2k10 season. And I don't own a video-game system.

Yea, Tracy has been impressive the past 3 years, hopefully he gets the majority of at-bats

His major league averages are better than Colvin's minor league averages. Colvin isn't good at baseball.

Kyle I hear what your saying man, and on the surface it seems like it would make sense, but I can't see how your argument that you have to miss bats to be a good pitcher works when there have been far too many pitchers, HOF ones at that, who made a living pitching to contact.

Name them. I bet almost all of them missed bats at a decent rate.

Greg Maddux in the later part of his career (2002-2008) put up a 3.92 ERA and struck out only 14.1% of the batters he faced

I'm at work so I'm not putting a ton of thought into this, so I'm likely to be contradicted, but that's just the first name I thought of when you asked me to name one.

And when Greg Maddux was, you know, good, he struck out an awful lot more guys.

Isn't that the exact point trying to be made about Carlos?

It's frustrating as all hell when we hit balls hard either right at someone or someone makes a good catch, and they have bloopers and seeing-eye singles all day long.

Their centerfielder has good range. Is that allowed? It doesn't seem fair.

he definitely doesn't.

They turned on the air conditioning to push him along faster.

This game is tied with some luck. If that Theriot line drive is a base hit, we'd have the bases loaded after the Fuku walk and the D Lee drive could've tied it.

Of course, we completely lack luck.

Four outs resulting from Theriot at-bats today. That's about what I expect for the season, on average.

Castro's head peeks over the horizon.

Yeah! God damn you Theriot for hitting a hard line drive.

Damn you straight to Hell!

Are you really going to make this post after implying every hit Z gave up was his fault??

No. Because this isn't his fault, you know. That ball was hit all that hard. Or the center fielder made a good play. Or he's depressed. Or something.

If the Cubs are sellers at the deadline this year, I don't think I'd be opposed to sending Z off somewhere.

Nobody's buying at his contract.

I'd be happy if they simply consider not making him the opening day starter.

when i said i didn't see how russell would get into a game that didn't go into extra innings, i forgot about games in which the starter gets pulled in the second. my bad, sorry guys.

yeah no kidding, i'd be very much for trading him somewhere, but unfortunately we'd probably have to eat half his contract.

carlos gonzalez (one of my biggest man-crushes in the game) had 4 hits today... think he is gonna have a big year.

it takes two to tango and we'd be the only ones on that dance floor
