All these live look-ins by Greg Gumbel sounds like he's absolutely amazed Northern Iowa is hanging with Michigan St when in reality they're just as good.

Yeah, anybody who's surprised that game is close hasn't been paying any attention.

Nice job by UNI fighting off that long drought that they had.

They're one of the best defensive teams in the nation. It definitely won't be easy for MSU in the final 20.

I am amazed Purdue is leading. They have played like crap offensively and both Bade and JJ got in foul trouble early. I have a feeling the wheels will fall off soon.

When the opposing team is shooting 5-for-25, it's hard not to be leading.

Yeah, Duke will probably start knocking those down.

Probably.

When you are shooting just as poorly it hard to lead.

There is an IU fan friend of mine rooting for Purdue right now. I feel like rooting for conference needs some limits, and that's one of them.

Duke/Baylor should be interesting.

Tennessee vs Michigan State in the Elite 8. It'll be a tough game, but I see no reason why UT can't win the game.

Tom Izzo. There's a reason.

*sigh*

Purdue never really had a chance. Not without Hummel. Not with JaJuan Johnson and then a bunch of nothing over 6' 5" (yes Bade does not count). They just didn't have the size and were dominated on the boards all night. It was a valiant defensive effort. I really hope they're all coming back because they will be legit Final Four contenders with the big three and Marcius/Hale/Bade as more size. Byrd is going to be a star in a couple years.

Anyone know the numbers on 8/9 seeds that face 4/5s in the S16 that didn't face 12/13s in the second round?

Counting tonight, the 4/5 seeds are 2-3 in that situation since 1985.

Best coach in college hoops, but he does not make Sparty unbeatable.

Yeah, I'm with the Vol fans here, though I'll be rooting for MSU. Tennessee's team (not their coach like most of you guys, but their team) annoys me. Anyway, MSU's far from unbeatable. UNI really didn't play that well, especially offensively, and they still stuck with MSU. Tennessee can beat them if Chism is hitting shots.

Izzo's a great coach, but his team isn't unbeatable. I'm not even saying it's likely we win, I'm just saying after beating UK, Kansas and Ohio State so far this year, we're more than capable of beating a Michigan State team that isn't as good as any of those three teams.

Butler (as an Indiana native) and Michigan State (Big Ten) are the only two teams left that I can pull for.

Hopson being accurate with his shots would really help things out as well. But yeah, Chism pretty much has to play well for us to win.

I'm close to feeling about Hopson how I felt about Kelley Washington. He's infuriating. And to think that he came into college with One-and-done hype.

If he had 1/3 of the heart of Chism or Prince, he'd be a lottery pick. If he doesn't show up Sunday, it's going to be much tougher to get past Sparty.

Yeah, Hopson's got a ton of talent, but doesn't seem eager to shoot if he struggles early. I'm hoping he has a big game in the tournament to boost his confidence a bit. I still think a slow day by Hopson can be overcome. We've got the outside shooting potential with Tatum, Maze and Goins to make up for a slow day by Hopson. We really need good days from Chism and Brian Williams, though, I think.

That's pretty impressive and a big testament to momentum in the tournament
