thompson is not an elite player. he is a spot-up-chucker and that's all he's ever been.

Yeah but Richardson couldn't guard him at all. I don't see why D.J. is playing so much now.

hello NIT

He takes this team to the NIT he has to go. I don't care if Mychael Henry is the next Michael Jordan.

Guenther is not going to fire Weber. I really think just as Weber is stupidly loyal to his seniors, Guenther is stupidly loyal to Zook and Weber.

I don't understand why we continue to turn the ball over. By now you'd think they would have learned their lesson and take care of the basketball. Also, get to the free throw line. We had a good run when our guards would penetrate and go to the basket or go to the basket and then kick it out for three. At the end of close games it helps to be in the double bonus and not the one and one. The only hope we have of making the dance is if Michigan State and Minnesota finish 9-9 in the Big Ten. If we lose against Minnesota on Thursday, the only way in is to win the Big 10 tourney because we aren't going to win in Columbus or W Lafayette.

Well, I would think a win in Minnesota shouldn't be too hard, they don't have a point guard at all right now. I'd press the hell out of them. But yeah, we are staring at the NIT again.

Uh, I thought a win in Indiana with five of their starters let alone minus two of their starters wouldn't be hard, either. Man, our guard play is just bad right now. It does no good to have guards who score but turn the ball over. And then when the guards don't score they still turn the ball over. It's just hard to believe there is a strong probability of this team winning only one Big Ten road game.

We are lucky we caught Iowa early. How the hell does this team, with this talent not have any good road wins? And we have talent now. Many predicted us to go deep in the tournament.

As a UNC fan, I'm not sure what to think of Drew 11 transferring. He's not nearly as good as Marshall and I think that the team responds to Marshall better as well. But, with UNC finally gaining some momentum, something like this happening in the middle of the season, probably isn't going to help things.

Glad to see Marshall will get more minutes, probably Bullock and McDonald too actually. But, this is just a very odd time for something like this to happen.

Roy needs to stay the hell out of California from now on too. Between Drew, the Wear twins, and Stepheson(legit reason for leaving at least) we don't exactly have a good track record as of late out there.

He should have transferred at the end of last season as the rumors suggested. I'm guessing he ends up at USC or UCLA. And don't kid yourself into thinking Stepheson had a more legitimate reason for transferring than the Wears did; he was just as homesick and uncomfortable at Chapel Hill.

I agree that he probably was uncomfortable, because he probably didn't see when he was going to ever wind up getting consistent PT. But, I think his dad being sick at least contributed to his decision some. In the end, he would have helped us out quite a bit, in my opinion.

As for going after another PG, I haven't heard anything and think it'd be really tough for UNC to entice anyone else to come in. Marshall is just a freshman and they have the 5th rated PG in the country committed already for 2012 in Marcus Paige. Kendall's a 4 year guy too, he's not an NBA type player, so he'll be starting for another 3 years after this.

Only way I can see us adding another PG is if we find someone else in Drew's shoes(like we did with Knox this year) that's a senior and has one year of eligibility left.

A team that has two road wins all year and probably won't get another one for the rest of the season? I think it'd be a huge upset if Illinois beat Minnesota next week.

Yeah, we should beat them though. Just press the crap out of them. We won't do that though.

We can blame Weber for quite a bit however, when you have talent with no desire, it's worthless. McCamey, Davis, Tisdale simply don't want to win and there's nothing Weber can do to change this. If you don't want it, you don't want, Weber' told, pleaded with, screamed at and probably begged McCamey to take the ball to the hoop - he's not going to do it. Davis and Tisdale are soft, no matter what Weber does thery're not going to become competitive.

If only we had more than 5 guys on the team. Play Leonard and Richmond down low. McCamey, well since we didn't recruit another point guard for a few years we are stuck there.

That would help as well, I'd definitely start Leonard over Tisdale and regardless of what Richmond says about coming off the bench I'd go with him over Cole. Neither of them are soft, they're agressive and willing shove in someone' face, not cower away and hide in the corner.

[expletive] Aggies are going to send me to an early grave. 18-30 from the free throw line in a 2-point OT loss at home. Unacceptable.

How awesome was that spin move and dunk from Leonard? Let him play.

Nothing like finishing a week off, where we lost by 20 at home to Drake and having three of our players arrested, by losing at home to a 1-11 Bradley team. Fire Chris Lowery.

I'll take Bruce back at SIU.

I honestly think he would love to be able to make that move as well. This team has to be killing him.

As a fan of both programs, it's a move that would benefit both too.

yeah, i think he is a decent coach that is just in a bit over his head. He really needs a deep breath and he isn't gonna get one in the big ten these days.

Agreed, do think NU, UIC, PSU, IU, etc. would have had any answer for Leonard? Tisdale' easy to defend, he doesn't want to mix up in the first place and you can just push him away, don't believe Leonard can just be push away.

I thought we made a run and took the lead in the UIC game with Leonard and Jereme together. They rebound better, pass better, and don't shy away from contact.
