The last time a team was held to less than 50 points in the title game was 1949 (also the last time under 40 in a game).

The last time a winning team was held to less than 60 points was 1983.

Did anyone else catch Mike & Mike this morning where the mom of one of the producers had picked this matchup in her bracket with a final score of something crazy like 54-39? They were talking about how unrealistic that score was, but apparently she was onto something!

Butler just needs to keep throwing up the threes.

If they don't make them, well, they're not making anything else tonight anyway. If they make them, they'll get right back in the game. And since they either flat out miss or have every inside shot get blocked, the threes are probably higher percentage shots at this point anyway.

Looks like UConn will be able to enjoy thier championship worry-free too. They must have made a nice under the table pay day to Miles.

About two hours before UConn played Butler for the national championship Monday at Reliant Stadium, Miles e-mailed a statement to The Courant.

"I have to take charge of my life," Miles wrote. "It is up to me. … It is time for me to step up and take charge of my own life and stop talking about history and the various mistakes that I made and that others made."

Fewest points by a winning team and a losing team individually in a title game since Kentucky beat Oklahoma A&M 46-36 in 1949.

I just love the stuff this guy supposedly wrote. It's so obvious some PR person with UConn wrote it to him and told him to copy and paste or he wouldn't get his money.
