A tournament like this creates some strange looking final rankings. They represent the results of the tournament more than the ability level of the teams (which I think they should since that's kind of the point of the tournament.).

 

It's just weird to see a team like Butler at 2 and VCU at 6 when they really aren't the 2nd or 6th best teams by any means.

Just for comparison's sake...

 

UConn finished 10th in Pomeroy, Butler 41st and VCU 52nd. Kentucky was the highest finisher of the Final Four teams at sixth.

 

Sagarin had UConn 4th, Kentucky 5th, Butler 22nd and VCU 37th.

 

Pomeroy had OSU, Duke and Kansas 1-2-3 while Sagarin swapped Kansas and Duke.
