Mike Anderson somehow parlayed this year into another raise. That guy knows how to work the system.

 

His agent is the same guy who represents Saban, Kiffin, Malzahn, etc. The antics each year are a bit annoying.

 

However, the Arkansas rumors seem to be the effect of the extension, not the cause. This extension was rumored before any Arkansas scuttlebutt came about, and is most likely just Anderson's agent trying to shake down Alden for more cash(which doesn't seem to have worked).

I was under impression there was still one to give. Harris would complicate matters scholarship wise. I could be wrong though.

 

IU only has 12 committed for 2011 but they already have 13 for 2012. But of course they are permitted to oversign by one so they can give a 14th scholarship out in November. Somebody would have to go at that point though.

After the last 3 seasons I will have zero problem with somebody getting Creaned to make room for Harris. =D> I still think Capothuganco is the most likely transfer option...that or switch him to a football scholarship. :hello:

Well, they extended him after he went to the Elite 8, and they initiated extension talks this year, and it doesn't look like all of Jimmy Sexton's leaks about the Arkansas job have gotten them to come up on their price at all(I heard 2M a year in January). They're secure enough that they've called his agent's bluffs with Georgia and Arkansas, and they let Oregon try to woo him last year. In a perfect world, he'd probably make a little less. But he has an agent that is very good at maximizing salary, and I don't really have a problem with him getting paid like a Top 20 or so coach.

Did anyone else hear that you cant call a timeout after 4 seconds when inbounding? how does that make any sense, you signal the TO and the ref is just supposed to stare blankly at you until the the last second is up and he can call the violation?

 

Not a rule. You can call a TO any time before the ref actually blows the whistle for the 5 second call.

I would be pretty upset if he actually cuts a player who wants to stay. I have no problem though with him sitting a player down and telling him where he stands and what his options are. A player like Capiobanco might not play 5 minutes a game next year and will almost certainly just get into blowout games in 2012. If Crean tells him that and he decides to transfer because of that I don't consider that a big deal.
