wow, Mizzou's 5* recruit Tony Mitchell is now headed to North Texas?

 

Yeah, they finally declared him ineligible and Mizzou lost their appeal. The Sun Belt will take partial qualifiers, and the Big 12 won't, so he decided to go there where it's an hour from home. An annoying end to the whole ordeal, but honestly I'm just glad that it's over. Hopefully they can land Porter and McLemore to help compensate.

Should have went to KU, they would have found a way to get him in. Either the Dareel Arthur or Brandon Rush plan would have worked.

Iowa started great then scored 23 points in the last 23:15. Wayne Larivee once thought that Battle had already made both free throws when he had only shot one. He then sat silently during the 2nd attempt trying to figure out what was happening. Later after Battle hit a shot and Iowa threw away the inbounds pass he and his color guy were going on and on about how that shot must have gone in and out. The color guy called Basabe Wasabe and the entire night he referred to Fran as McCafferty.

I think Wisconsin gets them at the Kohl. Minnesota could beat them too with all their bigs they could throw at Sullinger: Mbakwe, Iverson, and Sampson. Then again, Sullinger will just get the Sean May treatment and foul them all out. Minny also has no one that can play guard with the exception of Hoffarber.

Suprised Ryan doesn't realize that losing Lucious will probably help MSU. Look at his stats this year. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a guard that's worse. Plus it means more minutes for Appling, who is a much better player.

Somebody's gotta take Appling's minutes. He was already playing ~20 minutes/game, so he can't pick up. I don't think MSU was going to beat OSU in Columbus anyway, but if they were going to do it, they needed Lucious to wake up.

Yeah, but Lucious was really bad this year. In fact their entire team is shooting awful this year. Not sure why?

Yeah, I thought MSU was overrated coming into the season; Morgan was really good for them, and they were only a 5 seed in the tourney (23 in Pomeroy after the tourney), but damn I didn't think they'd look like this.

 

It's not the losses that would concern me if I were an MSU fan. Their worst loss is @ PSU who has proven themselves capable in B10 play (win against Illinois, 1 possession losses @OSU and @PU). But their close wins are problematic. (Needing a miracle to take Bucky to OT. Needing OT to beat NU at home. 1 possession win over Oakland)

I don't like their bigs at all. I know every sportscastor loves Delvon Roe because he can play defense. But between he, Nix, and Payne, they have zero offense. Puts a lot of pressure on your guards and Green to score. Plus Izzo and Summers seem to be fighting over something and he's not giving the production he should be. Odd yeat for the Spartans. That being said I'm sure Tom will find a way to get them into the Final Four again.

With this group there was no excuse for a lot of the losses we have had the past two years. UIC, Utah, Bradley. I really hope we take care of business.
