Disagree. I'll post more on it in the morning when I'm not drunk but I thought Garrett looked pretty good outside of shooting. He and Ejim were the only dudes who impressed me physically. And eff that nose on christopherson. Most of his shots came in transition. He hit a few prayers where he had no room.

That non-charge when we were down two with a minute left is legitimately one of the worst calls I've ever seen.

The offense will get worse without McCamey, Davis, and Tisdale around, I don't know what kind of response you were expecting.

I don't know what your basing the 4 star talent with 3 star PG theory on considering we've never had that under Weber. He's had

Deron/Dee

Deron/Dee

Frazier

Frazier

Frazier/DMac

The only time there's been 4 star+ talent throughout the team there's been a 4 star+ PG. The only times there's been less, there's been a 2 star PG.

And even the Frazier years, the Illini finished 4th in the Big Ten and blew a late lead to Va Tech, finished 10th in the Big Ten (but 40th in Pomeroy ratings overall) and made the conference tourney finals, and finished 2nd in the Big Ten (where a disastrous Frazier injury with 2 games to go killed the postseason). All 3 of those years, Weber was lauded for how well he coached despite inferior talent.

Out of those years the only one that was decent was two years ago. We were one lucky break of getting the benefit of the doubt as a 12 seed from missing the tourney 3 out of 4 years. At Illinois.

That team wasn't lucky to get a 12 seed. They were a better team than the Va. Tech team they played. If you're going to continue to use revisionist history every time you bring up Weber, though, there's no point in continuing this conversation.

A lot of the shows had us on the bubble, but whatever. Either way his track record with his own guys is pretty horrible compared to the rest of Illinois' history.

same can be said about the "foul" on ejim on the possession right before that.

No not really. That non-charge was absurd. If there ever was a textbook charge for the rules meetings to show, that was it. The worst part is that the ball wasn't even off of Iowa.

That call was one of the worst calls that I've ever seen in a basketball game but it was just the cherry on top to what was a horribly officiated game. And it went both ways. I thought they called a lot of unnecessary foul calls up around the perimeter against Iowa State in the first half that put them into some foul trouble. It seems the first half they called every kind of contact a foul and then the second half they called nothing. Just an inconsistently, horribly reffed game. Probably why they were doing an Iowa/ Iowa State game.

So much for that 10 point Pitt victory, I guess.

Ken Pom was probably accounting for when Tennessee will have to vacate the victory in a few years.

Yeah, he gave Pitt an 83% chance of winning, and predicted a 10 point Panther win. I realize that he's gonna be wrong sometimes, I just like to give stellar guys like SSR a hard time.
