Myck Kabongo decommits from Texas. He's supposedly looking at Duke, North Carolina and Syracuse.

Maryland PG Quinn Cook will decide between Duke and UCLA on Thursday. Sounds like Duke.

He supposedly still has Texas as his favorite, he just wants to go take some more visits to make sure. Still that sucks. Luckily Barnes has pulled pretty much every kid from Findlay Prep in NV so I still have hope, and he is good friends with Tristan Thompson and Cory Joseph if they are not one and done's.

I keep hearing Duke. Why is K going after committed kids so hard now?

Myck recommited back to Texas today. Thank god, Rick Barnes sucks without have a great PG to run the floor. He sounds like a great kid, wish others sounded like this after de-committing from a program.

"I was just looking to make sure I was making the right decision. Unfortunately, I chose the wrong method," he said in a text message. "Looking back I didn't deal with it properly but it's something I can learn from as a person," he said in the text. "So, there's no point for me to go through the process again just to do it. ... There's no need to waste their time and energy and that would be unfair to them. Yet again, I don't want people to think I did this as something to get attention. I jumped the gun on how I was feeling and I'm truly sorry to everyone involved from fans to coaches and programs.

I was McLemore would pick Kansas already so I could stop thinking we have a chance.

I'd prefer the "Mizzou gets top recruit; doesn't qualify" storyline again.

And to think I didn't say anything when UMFan started talking about highly ranked recruiting classes that ultimately didn't win a thing.

Wouldn't we have needed to have a top 5 class at some point for that to be relevant?

yeah, i don't remember having a highly-ranked class that didn't win anything. since lou henson retired we've had solid classes, and most of those classes have won something.

Cody Zeller to announce on November 10th it looks like.

I tell you what, it is funny as hell to read the IU boards and watch people all freaking out at every rumor or tidbit posted about Cody. People are scared to death he will go to UNC or even Butler. I tell you what, I definitely would like to see Cody come to IU not just because I think he has potential but also he can help us get Yogi but.......good lord I'm not losing a wink of sleep over it. OMG CODY ATE ALPHA-BITS THIS MORNING AND THE LETTERS UNC FORMED IN HIS CEREAL OMG!

SIU is going to be so brutal this season. I thought about going to Champaign next Saturday for the season opener against Illinois, but I've decided to pass. That's going to be a mauling.

It's an exhibition game against Springfield-Illinois but Iowa just scored over 100 points in a game. I don't have faith they'll win too many games but they should be a lot more fun to watch then they were under Lickliter.

111 without Gatens. I don't know that any college has ever had such polar opposites in back to back years.

My bold prediction is that they will not finish last. I don't know who will though.

I didn't realize how athletic some of these kids were. It actually makes me really annoyed Lickliter held everyone back (or at least seemingly did). I am pretty excited for next Sunday.

Just got home from the game. They looked pretty good. I fully realize the level of competition sucked, but under Lickliter they beat this team 76-60. It was so nice to see them destroy a far inferior opponent, that's something that hasn't happened recently. After the first 5 minutes, they pretty much did what they wanted, when they wanted. That's something I haven't seen from them since the 05-06 Alford team. They still may not be that good this year, but if they can continue that style all year, it's going to be far more entertaining.

And I will say this... Eric May is a freak. It was shocking comparing him to last year. He didn't look anything like this against anyone last year. Also, I can't wait to see what Gatens is like in the new system.

He was assigned the wrong skin color wrong at birth. That play where he got fouled as he was going up but still finished a 2 hand reverse dunk? The guy is absolutely ripped also. But the big thing is his shot is so much better this year and he's added a mid-range game. It's not that flat line drive. He said the coaches have really worked on his release point and getting a little more arch and it shows. If he can consistently hit that pull-up mid-range shot, look out. Hopefully he continues to improve his handles because that's the one thing keeping him from being really good.

How about Melsahn's move on the baseline? Head/ball fake right, spin back over his left shoulder, one baseline and a reverse dunk from the other side of the rim? Actual athletic basketball plays are being made again. By young guys no less. I was afaid he was maybe over-hyped from the PTL but he looked good.

Only guy I was a little letdown by today was Marble. I think he's a year or two away.

Edit: I just put the link in as the image was humongous when I posted it here.

He's finally starting to look like an NBA player.

Anyone know if Purdue actually has a shot at Amir Williams?
