Because men can't sexually harrass men?

What's sexual about mocking how someone dresses?

Have you people never seen a sexual harrassment video. Talking about how they dress is well within the bounds of inappropriate. And he wasn't just critiquing her style, the quotes obviously relate to his opinion that she was dressed like somebody who was asking for it.

plus i don't think that she picks out the clothes she wears on the air.

There was some article a while back where she said she picks out her clothes... can't remember where it was. Someone had interviewed her about her style.

Still, at any other employer, that's sexual harassment -- whether his comments were accurate (I think they were, despite Storm being a fox) or otherwise.

If one of the male anchors came out wearing bermuda shorts while another was wearing business attire and KT criticized him, what would that be?

A completely different situation.

She wasn't dressed any differently than thousands of women in the business world dress everyday. And it's a freaking sports highlight show, not meet the press.

Haha I take it you don't work in the business world...

I dont think what she was wearing is standard business dress for women. ok it is a sports highlight show, why are the men not wearing bermuda shorts then? My guess is ESPN has a dress code. Several of the not so attractive ESPN anchor ladies dress very professional. The attractive female anchor is dressing completely different then everyone else. sorry I am missing your argument somewhere

What the hell do bermuda shorts have to do with anything?

She's been wearing that crap for a long time and obviously would not have been allowed on air if it violated dress codes. Women in the professional world where that style of clothing all the time.

Not the one from 1955, no.

I work in Manhattan, I see women in that style of clothing all the time.

Okok, maybe in marketing or PR. :D

That's not the point I was trying to make. You can't make comments about a woman's skirt being too short or her top being too tight. And definitely not because she is "too old" to wear clothes like that. And certainly not using the phrase "sausage casing."

In any business situation, that can be construed as sexual harassment, and that's probably why he was suspended.

You guys must be missing cable news these days if you think Storm is wearing anything out of the ordinary. If anything, ESPN is a few years behind cable news when it comes to dolling up the women anchors.

Within 5 years, all female anchors and sideline reporters on ESPN will be reasonable facsimiles of Erin Andrews. God bless progress.

If you believe that to true, this is just a stand still. I still believe that she is not dressing professionally. I believe that ESPN has a double standard in dress code. If that is the case they should not be upset when someone like KT comments about it.

OK, then dont be upset when they are criticized for looking awful.

Hannah Storm in 2008:

It doesn't take me any time at all to get dressed at work because I put together a bunch of outfits at once, jewelry and all, and take them en masse to work. When I get there at about 5:30 AM, I just pick an outfit depending on how I am feeling that day.

Regardless of your conservative definition of dressing professionally, commenting on clothing is a direct breach of sexual harrassment policies.

If all of the red in her outfit were black, there's someone in my law office wearing the exact same outfit today. She looks quite nice, though I didn't tell her she looked like a school girl. And I don't work in fashion-forward Manhattan, but an uber-conservative region. That style of dress is very normal in a business setting, even more so for an anchor of an entertainment/sports show. It's nowhere near bermuda shorts and that comparison makes your argument look silly.

You mean the double standard and sexist sexual harassment policies. If someone looks like crap male or female they look like crap and saying they look like crap isn't sexual harassment. If a guy were to walk in not wearing a suit he would be told to put a suit on. If a woman wears a short skirt and knee high boots the same should be done. Neither or sexual harassment. They are people not dressing appropriately for their job.

I think you're missing the point.

It's not sexual harassment because he said she looks like crap -- it's sexual harassment because of the comments he made about the "way" she dresses, implying that it was too sexy for her age. He didn't just say "her clothes are not work appropriate" as you suggest.

There is a double-standard, but that's in part because a lot of guys just don't care. If some female SVP in my company publicly announced that my pants were "way too tight," for example, (and they were appropriate for work), it could be construed as harassment.

Ah. I thought you were saying any comment on how a woman dresses is sexual harassment. I do think that an employer should be able to say pants or what have you are too tight whether male or female. It's their business and they can run it how they want. For instance if a man or woman were to show up to a business wearing leather pants I would, as an employer, tell them to go home and change. Other employees shouldn't make comments about being too tight or sexy though unless it is to say it violates the dress code.

That outfit is truly awful. If ESPN wants to know how to dress their women, they should watch a little Fox News. One thing that network does right is lure in viewers with sex.

Let's face it, a Kornheiser suspension was going to happen eventually. He makes his living off the tirade. Only a matter of time before one of his rants offends the wrong person. He probably doesn't even care, it will just mean more listeners when he comes back.

I must be missing something when it comes to the "hot anchors" on Fox because every time I tune in and it's a female news anchor she's just some slight variation of the lantern-jawed, moose-y blonde they've been trotting out for years. Edited by Sammy Sofa

ESPN has been involved in a number of sexually-related miscues the last few years (Reynolds, Philips, Kutselias, and Tony) and although it brings them publicity, they realize four is too many. I think ESPN is just trying to stop this and laying down the kaybash by being a little too tough on Tony. What Tony did was wrong, but 2 weeks is a little excessive.

I don't think Andrews really dresses too risque. Some things might be a little tighter than normal, but she is just so beautiful that most anything she wears makes her look hot.
