Week 16: Bears vs. Vikings, Mon. 7:30 P.M., ESPN

Should the Vikings make to the NFC Championship game to face, quite probably, New Orleans, they'll get their asses kicked.

Neither of those teams will be in the NFC Championship.

Sounds good to me, as long as Farve somehow ends up with egg on his face and the Vikings don't win the Super Bowl.

hey don't hate on the Saints! Cubs fans with no dog in the playoff hunt should pull for the Saints. Cubs and Saints fans are kindred spirits.

Not winning the Super Bowl means he'll end with egg on his face?

He played a great game tonight and took control of things in the second half. It's not his fault the o-line has stretches where they don't know how to block and the defense suddenly is horrible. Or that the defensive coordinator (who supposedly would be a top target of the Bears if Lovie is fired) insists on blitzes that never get there and leaving an 80% CB one-on-one in overtime. Or has a running back who fumbled the game away.

I've got a really bad feeling that Cutler shreds the Viking safeties and Favre has a horrible game in a Bears win.

Yep. Wrong about Favre but when your safeties suck and your top CB is 75% or so, it was easy to see coming.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him throw one of his trying to force the ball in there picks which costs the Vikings a playoff win.

You're just not watching a lot of NFL games if you think Cutler was GREAT tonight. He was good.

Go through a game log of Rivers, Manning, Rodgers, or Brees some time. They play better than Cutler did tonight...routinely. I guess it's a semantic thing though. He's still been hot garbage most of the year.

You comparing him to those other QB's game logs is ridiculous. It was freezing ass cold out there tonight, the Bears have nowhere near the talent at WR or Oline as those other QB's do, but putting up 4 td's and nearly 300 yrds and completely 57% of his passes doesnt qualify as a great game just because Manning, Rivers, Rodgers, and Brees have all had better games? Thats absurd.

of course they play better than cutler did tonight. cutler either doesn't have the line those guys have or the receivers or both. wait, it's both for every single one of them. rodgers's line has been much better lately and his receiver corp is incredibly talented and deep.

If he doesn't at least make the Super Bowl, it'll be a failure.

Maybe for the team but not on his part if he plays like he did tonight.

Yep, Adrian Peterson is the problem.

Hey it's been better but I wouldn't call it 'much' better. I'll agree with you on the point about receivers.

Really you should just stop watching football period if you are still angsty about what Cutler did tonight. You are doing it wrong.

Yes, clearly that's what I said!

He is not the problem. His fumbling is a problem, not the problem. The defense is a problem. The o-line is a problem. The special teams has been great but was a problem tonight.

Exactly, my God hes sounding like Voice of [expletive] Reason when talking about college football.

He not once complimented Cutler for his game tonight, during or after, but as soon as he made 1 mistake he was calling him brain dead. Its asinine

they're much better than the bears in terms of run blocking and better in terms of pass blocking, at the very least.

A blocked extra point lost the game. That could only happen to one of my teams.

yeah, because iowa and the vikings were like a collective 1,000-0 most of the season and won lucky a few times. my teams never ever get lucky and should have won the game in regulation but dropped a million ints.

I'm still angsty about Cutler being terrible this year.

The good thing about him being so bad this year is that next year people will have totally forgotten that the idea in giving up so much to get him was for him to be elite and not merely good for 4 games out of the season.

you want some cheese with that whine?

boo hoo hoo, the bears won this game, not the vikings blowing it. and not justfor ap's fumble (which was actually caused by chicago), the bears just beat them

Or if I were playing your part I would still be talking about the non-facemask call on that last fumble. Or one of the worst non pass interference penalties you'll see on Rice.

Seriously man there are what like 10 missed extra points all year in the NFL? One of them tonight happened in a game that went to overtime.

Pretty much. But ignorance is bliss I guess. Some people aren't happy unless they can find something to be miserable about.
