The MWC is now officially a stronger conference than the Big East and the ACC, they should get an automatic bid to the BCS

I really like the Nebraska move to the Big Ten (though i would have also liked the assumed accompanying Mizzou move, always thought they'd fit in well) mostly because now we get to see them get curbstomped by whoever's in charge of the Big Ten every year, railed by Penn State, humiliated by Ohio State, even teams like Wisconsin and Michigan State will feast off of them. No more hiding in the Big 12 North.

Too bad Illinois will still probably get embarrassed for another 10 years.

I can't wait to see Bo Pelini's nose pacing the Big 10 sidelines. On the plus side of this, when he goes apesh** and starts killing students during a game, there's little chance it will be KU students.

Great news for Boise State. It was something they had to do if they wanted to grow as a program. The WAC can't be happy though.

How can you be so sure Montana's coach won't do the same thing?

Chip Brown says Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State to the Pac-10 after a Texas regents meeting next Tuesday.

Chip Brown still says Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State to the Pac-10 after a Texas regents meeting next Tuesday.

Not quite. Substitute Texas Tech for A&M and your statement is accurate.

Yeah, screwed that up.

Nebraska is going to get a smaller share of the pie at first, but not less than what they're currently getting now. But it sounds like they want to get things going academically immediately.

Looks like it's up to A&M now to make their move. Do they go the safe route and join the PAC-10 or do they make the bold move severing conference affiliations with the horns and head to the SEC?

And he edited it:

purple book cat[/url]"]---6/11 Morning Update from the office:

Had an update this morning. Same story as yesterday, Missouri must convince Texas & A&M to come to the conference for Mizzou to get an invite, while the Big East schools must pressure Notre Dame to either join fully (which it won't do) or leave the conference. Big Ten may move forward with Texas and ND only, but Texas must ensure that it has done whatever it can to ensure its former Big Twelve partners find a good home. Texas administration is internally divided, and Orangebloods is connected to only one side of the conversation - the side that has not been involved with the strategy all along.

So is the thinking that they continually want the non-ND number to be odd to leave the spot for them?

And Snood, I think you're confusing people who actually belong to the university with politicians. No one with authority to speak for Mizzou has said anything besides "we're happy to be a part of the Big 12".

Not really true, but whatever.

Even with nebraska pointing the finger at Mizzou, it's pretty obvious there's more to it than that. But they played a part. Not that I really blame them. I hope KU would have listened had it been in the same boat.

Texas A&M look to be headed to the SEC. That means the SEC will be looking for at least one, and most likely 3 more schools.

Virginia Tech, Clemson, Florida State, and even Missouri are all schools that are being mentioned by many in and around the SEC. Georgia Tech, Miami, and West Virginia have also been mentioned, but I'm not seeing anyone anywhere putting any stock into any of those 3.

Waiting for Notre Dame to change their mind, be added as the 12th team and stop there.

Sorry Nebraska.

Nebraska's in. You'll need another if Notre Dame changes their mind.

They're sort of in. There's nothing in ink yet, I'm sure the Big Ten has let them know they're good to go but if Delaney wants to turn super-heel, he could hit Nebraska with a chair and reveal a leprechaun shirt.

Hah. I suppose. It's my understanding though that when you apply to join a conference, you're given the go-ahead ahead of time from the league that they'll accept you once you apply as to not embarrass the [expletive] out of you. When the Nebraska Board of Regents voted, I'm sure they had were knowledgable of the Big Ten's response to their application.
