I just realized Hawaii is in the MWC. Bet they are thrilled the first time they have to go on TE road to play East Carolina.

WVU and the Big East settle.

Big 12 schedules released today. KU football is totally effed.

I would say its a tougher conference now. Texas starts off @OSU, WVU, OU (in Dallas). Finishes at home to TCU then @ KSU in December.

Temple is apparently joining the Big East. Heard on the radio today, and didn't remember, that they used to play football in the Big East but were kicked out for sucking too bad.

The A-10 is weak. SLU might be about even with the conference in terms of competitiveness, but they really should be in the Valley.

stuy, how implausible is the FSU to the Big 12 talk?

There has been talks of it on Texas boards for a couple of months along with Clemson too.

a couple of days after the FSU AD says they're committed to the ACC, the FSU chairman of the Board of Trustees expresses extreme displeasure with the ACC and expresses interest in the Big 12.

That was before the tv deal was announced. They could make an extra 10 million in the Big 12.

Nobody's said a word about Texas Southern in months, why are you still on this?

Have a little respect. They were the first team to win an NCAA championship with an all-black roster.

Well he does say that Williams might be competing with Webb for the starting spot, so it might not be terrible. But it could be terrible.

That was a useful piece of analysis from me.

Yes, but with self-awareness

Not really sure where to put this, but this is some pretty interesting financial info on D-1 public schools.

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/story/2012-05-15/texas-athletics-spending-revenue/54960210/1

There were only eight D-1 (public) athletic departments that received no subsidies and were totally self sufficient (2006-2011). Four of them were in the B1G (Purdue, Penn St., Nebraska, OSU), three Big 12 (Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma), and one in the SEC (LSU).

Michigan and Iowa were 99%+ self sufficient and all B1G schools (no Northwestern obviously) were under 10% subsidized. AD revenues for the B1G were spread from the bottom teams Purdue at $66M, Indiana at $71M, Illinois at $77M to Penn St. at $116M, Michigan at $122M, and O$U at $131M.

I know there are some SIU people around, they were 87.3% subsidized!!
