Ok thanks guys. And thanks for not ripping me for knowing that.

Iowa v. G Tech is gonna be SOOOOO boring. (Sorry hawkeye fans)

Hell, I love college football as much as they come and I didn't even get it until like 2 years ago.

I chuckle at those who think this is unfair to both teams. Is it what it is, and it should be a fun matchup.

Of course you chuckle. Alabama won't have a chance to be embarrassed again this year.

I was not embarrassed about losing to an eventual undefeated team in utah. Upset? Yes, but Utah was a damn good team. In fact Oklahoma losing to Boise State was more embarrassing then Bama losing to Utah. And if you think Bama is "saved" from being embarrassed again, then you're wrong. I would love the opportunity to play the winner of TCU/Boise State, nad put this issue to bed.

And if you do "get it," you get that Iowa might have made a BCS bowl only because it "travels well." That tells you right there the system is a crock.

Though KU did make the Orange Bowl a few years ago because it was thought they would travel better than Mizzou. Which was true. :)

Iowa made the BCS because the only other option wasn't viable (because they beat that other option). It's kind of an "ND 2006" situation - they were the best team available but to a lot of outside fans they don't pass the smell test.

The difference is that I think Iowa will hang with GaTech while ND got obliterated by LSU.

yeah right, you were ashamed. you talked a ton of [expletive] leading up to the game and then disappeared as soon as it was over.

Ok, I don't feel like looking it up or reading back. Does anyone know what bowl and who wisconsin plays in? Thanks

They drew Miami in the Champs Sports Bowl.

These games are going to range from blowouts to unbelievably boring. The BCS keeps finding new ways of giving people ammunition for a playoff system.

The stupid thing is, I don't think people would mind this system nearly as much if they had just sucked it up and matched Boise/Cincy and TCU/Florida or Boise/Florida and TCU/Cincy. They still wouldn't like it, but at least the matchups would be fun. They handled this the worst way it could be handled, as usual.

Mizzou got hosed

what else is new?

in 2007 we beat ku, finish ahead of them in the standings, yet they got the orange bowl.

in 2008 we beat nebraska, finish ahead of them in the standings, yet they got the gator bowl.

in 2009 we beat iowa state, finish ahead of them in the standings, yet they get the insight bowl.

really unless we ever win the big 12 championship, were always gonna be a step or two below where we should be. its not fair, but the big 12 blows and so do the bowl selection committees.

This is my biggest problem with it. The only pro, IMO, for the Insight Bowl, is that it's the better Big 12 Bowl. The pros for the Texas Bowl include the fact that it's on national TV, at a better time, against a better opponent, and in a state that we heavily recruit. I am just tired of bowl games constantly overlooking Mizzou in the selection process.

In the end though, after we blow out Navy and win our fourth bowl in five years, I'll be happy.

Oklahoma lost by one point in OT on a couple trick plays.

Alabama was down 21-0 in the first quarter and was only really in the game for 1:37 when it was 21-17 until Utah marched down and made it an 11-point game again.

Bama's loss last year was way worse and way more embarrassing.

I hope the TCU-Boise winner is voted #1 in the AP poll.

I wouldn't have a problem with Bama being consensus #1 if they stomp Texas as they should. But if Texas somehow won in a close game and one of TCU/Boise stomps the other, I'd really hope that the latter would be voted #1.

Yet we didn't take as embarrassing. We were angry, we were disappointed, but considering Bama had come off a 7-6 season a bowl victory over Colorado the previous year, I would say the end of the 2008 season was more disappointing, then embarrassing. If you want to think we were embarrassed, then you have a taken a shot at Utah, moreso then Alabama. They wanted it more, Bama didn't, it's that simple.n Disappointed, but not embarrased.

If Bama wins, say by 10 or more points, then they should be the consensus #1, but anything under 10 points and a convincing win by either TCU or Boise and I think we would see the mytical split national champions.

There's going to be like 4 people who aren't fans of Iowa or GTech who end up watching the Orange Bowl.

I understand why people think it will be boring and won't watch. But again in terms of BCS games this year has the best group of teams ever. You have the top 10 teams in the country. Many years you have a #15-20 team in there and a couple or more teams outside the top 10. Or at least it feels that way. I'm not sure why people wouldn't want to watch Cincy/Florida.

Plus I love watching Georgia Tech and would watch that offense against anyone. With all that said I do wish we were in the Fiesta against Boise.

You're clueless. Iowa is ranked 10th in the BCS, very narrowly behind Georgia Tech. The top 9 teams are all in the BCS already. They beat the #11 team by two scores in their house.

They were the most deserving team for that spot.
