Here's to Milton Bradley continue the trend of messing up a team's chemistry. I hate that the Cubs are saddled with Silva, but watching Bradley self-destruct and kill any kind of hope Seattle might have at being good next season will be fun to watch.

...

THE CUBS' BAD SEASON HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH CHEMISTRY.

Bad chemistry didn't take out Aramis for Talmost half a season, make Soriano and Soto terrible or turn 2nd base a nightmare of pain and suffering and despair until Jeff Baker showed up. Team chemistry had zilch to do with this team reguarly going out there with 3-5 offensive dead spots in the lineup.

Whatever helps you sleep at night is all that matters. The bottomline is each team Bradley has been on has felt his presence and that has been mostly bad. Bad luck played a part, but if you don't like the players you are playing with you are not going to play hard for them. Keep your head in the sand all you want, believe in the almight chemistry myth or not, I don't care.

Are you [expletive] kidding me?

You seriously think Milton Bradley, one man, has brought down every team he's been on? That he is THE reason that they do badly or underperform? You really think ballplayers are childish enough that they don't play well unless they like everyone on the team?

You can't really be that dense.

Yes, the Cubs players didn't want to play with Bradley, so they decided that they didn't care anymore. They let their own numbers suffer just because they hated one player on the team. Oh man, they sure showed him.

milton bradley the DH is infinitely more lovable than milton bradley with a glove. by the end of the season seattle fans will be loving him and we'll be watching carlos silva eating donuts while he's on the DL and making more money than any of us will ever see in our lives

i met theriot outside a bar one night and he said one time he got an 0-2 meatball and just as he was about to rip it he remembered how milton was in a pissy mood earlier and swung through it

The man is a nut case, he thinks everyone is out to get him, everyone is hates him , everyone hates black people, blah blah Milton is a really really sad person.

And none of this affected the Cubs play last year(except Milton's)

Like I said you can believe whatever reason why the Cubs sucked last season as a why to sleep at night. I chose smorgabord of reasons that includes bad chemistry. If you don't believe in bad chemistry then so be it. I do think bad chemistry play a part. Now move on.

Win.

Oh and this trade goes to prove how HORRIBLE Hendry is as a GM. We have the trifecta of idiots running the Bears/Bulls/Cubs. At least the White Sox can show off a championship victory and not be lumped into the squad of inept incompetent fools.

Just because Kenny Williams lucked into a title doesn't mean he isn't an idiot. In fact Williams is as big of an idiot as the GMs of the Cubs/Bears/Bulls but he was lucky that his boneheaded moves worked for one season.

Why do you keep talking about sleep? It's weird and creepy.

So you think if the Cubs all got along great last year they would have been better?

And, from what we can tell, it seems like the only person anyone had any issues with was Bradley. You're telling me that all of the people on the roster apparently get along or at least don't have any problems, but ONE guy can destroy all of that? It doesn't matter if the others are all buddy-buddy so long as one guy is a jerk? That's absurd. You're the one making up ridiculous excuses to justify this, not me.

arguing with redflash is only fun if done ironically, otherwise there's a wrestling with pig analogy dying to be made

At least Kenny sealed the deal and got Peavy something Hendry could not do. LOL

Milton's been traded midseason twice in his career. His teams had worse records the rest of the season both times.

He also didn't have a team sale tying his hands. Didn't Kenny also picked up a POC contract like Alexis Rios?

Well I ate my words when I said Hendry wouldn't be stupid enough to make this deal. Horrible, just completely and utterly horrible.

Yes, the words "Hendry couldn't possibly be that dumb" will never be uttered again.

Do yourselves a favor and don't read the comments on that story. Good Lord, I hate people.

I should have taken your advice. Expected, but still frustrating. I was a little disappointed in some of Bruce's comments too.

Whatever, I'm going to go get drunk

god i hope milton bradley has a monster season next year and the mariners make the playoffs

God I hope not. Knowing our luck tho, Milty becomes a friggin MVP candidate. But here's to Bradley not playing in 80 games.

It's almost like Hendry went looking for the worst player he could find who was making close to what Milton was making.

Yikes!

I'm guessing there wasn't really much interest in Bradley after all.
