If South Carolina managed to beat Florida yet Florida beat Alabama in the SEC Championship would Florida still be ahead of TCU for the BCS Championship?

I doubt it. I think the poll drop would be enough to give TCU the bump.

Not that I think South Carolina has any chance.

Neither do I. Hopefully TCU gets the loser of the SEC Championship game and I think they match up very well against Alabama. TCU still has to win tomorrow. For me they are the most intriguing non-major conference team since the inception of the BCS. Plus having them run the table will be another major blow to the BCS system.

Would those teams gain more fans as the conference becomes more prominent? Right now, despite being a perennially very good team, none of those teams have a realistic shot at being a national championship contender. As they become more prominent and have a realistic shot at a national title, their exposure could/would grow and, thus, so would their fan base.

Not that this isn't a good idea for the MWC in the long run, but TCU is definitely a national title contender right now. Texas probably wins out a little over 50% of the time (including Big 12 CG), Cincy probably wins out 30-35% of the time, and TCU is about 85-90% to run the table at this point. Even if it's a given that an undefeated Cincy will pass them in the standings, that's still a 25-30% chance TCU finishes ahead of both of them. Boise and GT aren't passing them in the standings, so all that's left at that point is passing the SEC CG loser. My percentages could be a little off, but they still have a legitimate shot.

Maybe, but it's telling that if they win out they might have an opportunity at the title over a 1-loss team.

Pretty solid Friday night game tonight with WVU battling Cincy. I'm rooting for WVU in this one.

I'm rooting for Cincy just because I want to see Illinois against an undefeated team on Black Friday.

I'm praying for a miracle tomorrow.

As much as I wanted Iowa to lose a game so they didn't have a chance to go to the National Title game, I have no problem with them going to a BCS game over OSU so I'd love for them to win tomorrow.

What has Desmond Howard done to keep his job other than being the token black guy?

This is the first time I've seen Gameday in like a month and he hasn't said anything meaningful yet. Corso seems to be in much better shape than he was earlier in the year.

I think the Iowa game will be close simply because the defense is going to make Pryor look bad. I have no faith that Iowa will score points unless they're given the ball with fantastic field position.

I think Iowa still has a chance to go to the BCS if they lose to OSU and beat Minnesota. They are 10th now, if they battle OSU closely then I don't see them dropping too much, beat Minnesota and then watch other teams fall the week or two that you are off and they'll probably be in the top 14.

My fear, however, is that they'd play Duke or some other bad ACC team that isn't Georgia Tech and that would suck to play a team like Duke in a BCS game. (If you play in a BCS type game usually you'd want to play someone prestigious or good).

I'm assuming he's a future replacement for Corso when he leaves. That's my only explanation. I don't like him either.

Uh-oh, here's another review that will screw over IU against a BCS-hopeful Big Ten team.

ETA: Not this time.

Indiana isn't that bad of a team (their is no way they should be 1-5). How did they get beat by 40 to Virginia? Virginia is not a good team at all.

That would be horrible but that's my thought too. Unless they want to keep the wacky old guy role and Lou is still alive.

Mark May is kind of an idiot but I at least get the sense that he watches games. Howard gives you nothing but a guy who sounds like he's trying really hard not to screw up while reading off cards.

I will always have a fondness in my heart for Desmond because of his Devin Hester type performance in the 1996 NFL football season but he's not too memorable as a commentator.
