3rd straight week Carolina must beat a bad team to make the playoffs even a distant hope. It's already going to be damn near impossible because 2 of the 4 best teams in the NFC are in the South, but getting to .500 would be a small step the right way.

Interesting question ... where would you rank Carson Palmer among QB's in the league in terms of skill now?

To me he is no where near the top 10. He only ever had two great seasons with another pretty good one. He did bad in his time last year and is doing bad this year despite still having a great receiving core and this year a great run game. I really don't think he is a good QB anymore. Doesn't mean it can't change as he is still somewhat young with a good arm but he just isn't doing well.

Speaking of Jim Zorn:

According to one report, it would've happened already if Mike Shanahan was willing to take his job right now. Thomas George at FanHouse quotes "a Redskins management source" who says that the Redskins have already made a play for Shanahan, but that he didn't want the job in mid-season.

Shanahan told the franchise there was little he could do in the middle of the season for them and that changing coaches during the season in the NFL rarely works,'' a Redskins management source told FanHouse.

Smart move by Shanahan, I think.

It's going to be a tough game this week for the Cowboys, but at least most of the guys are getting healthy. I'm curious to see how they rotate Jones, Barber, and Choice now that Felix is healthy and Barber has had an off week to heal. I think Choice has earned his share of the carries, but we'll see.

I hope Austin has another big game. Roy Williams practiced yesterday and should play as well.

Considering both Dallas and Tennessee may have openings after the season, definitely a good move.

Most def. I wouldn't want to work under Snyder anyways.

Apparently Crabtree is going to start for the Niners on Sunday.

Singletary has been gushing about him as much as he will gush about anyone. He's been saying that he has been very impressive and is great shape. Singletary could watch someone run for 300 yards and would still say he made some mistakes.
