Was not expecting to win this game but losing to Minnesota sucks.

I wasn't either.

We'd be 4-0 if we had an average offensive line. Aaron Rodgers has been sacked 20 times this year. TWENTY.

No kidding, its a joke.

their o-line sucks but sometimes he really just needs to throw the ball. when he got safetied in the end zone the blocking wasn't too bad; he held the ball far too long. you can't have third and long from your own one yard line and expect to scramble around for 5 seconds. there was another one of those plays tonight too, i think it was on first down somewhere around the minnesota 35, he had good protection but held the ball way too long and got sacked.

That said, there's been quite a few times this year where he's scrambled out of sacks and has made some good plays on his feet. I do agree with you though, he needs to learn how to throw the ball away.

He probably could've gotten some yardage by running it himself on that play. The blocking in front of him was good...

I almost want to see us get into the Eric Berry sweepstakes at this point, so why not?

I doubt Berry will be the first pick in the draft.

Is he even that great of a prospect?

Absolutely. Berry is the best safety in the draft and fairly easily the best safety in the NCAA. He's a fantastic player on one of the best defenses in the league and he's a big part of our defensive success.

For what it's worth, Monte Kiffin said he'd take Berry with whatever pick he had, even #1.

How many safeties ever go no. 1?

Very few (if any). That's why I doubt he'll go #1 overall. However, top 2-5 is not out of the question and top 10-15 is pretty much a certainty at this point.

He could also be a corner in the NFL, though I think safety is his best position. Most draft experts have Berry as a top 5 pick and the first safety taken overall. There's some really nice talent at the top of this draft, though, so he might fall a few spots if no team has a need at S/CB.

Everything I have heard pretty much projects Berry as a defensive franchise player, and similar to Ed Reed. I could see him going #5 and having every team that passed on him regret it in 3-5 years. He might be the safest pick of the draft.

That's very much how I consider him (take my natural bias into consideration though). He's intercepted 13 balls in just over 2 collegiate years (he's a true junior) and has amassed 487 return yards and 3 touchdowns off of those picks. He's also just 15 yards shy of breaking the all-time NCAA interception return yardage record set by Terrell Buckley from 89-91.

Haha what the hell is McCarthy challenging? This is Lovie-esque

He's a [expletive].

Great drive all goes for naught because our tackles can't block [expletive]. I like the gameplan we have on offense. Hopefully McCarthy doesn't get away from it.

Jared Allen is going to give the Pack fits tonight. He could have a career night

Good call!

Well, he's certainly the safety-est pick in the draft...

Yeah, only 1 has and that was back in 1956. Safety isn't a position you use the first pick on, but that doesn't mean Berry isn't a legit top 5 talent and a potential franchise player at safety. And as others have said, he's a really safe pick for a top 10 guy.

With the Bears not having a number 1 pick next year, just how expensive would it be for the Bears to trade up to get this guy? Especially since you'd have to trade up to one of the top 1 or 2 picks unless some other players step up before then.

Way more than it would be worth, IMO. I think this team needs offensive linemen more than they need a franchise safety.

Going from 64 to 2 would require a lot of other picks added to the draft.
